Gloria: But not fast enough! I am going to take this investigation into my own hands!
Following the kidnapping of Carter and Jake Hayes, Jones is called back in to find them and the missing members of Ad Astra. To their horror though, the GPD finds Jake shot dead and no signs of Carter.
Tropes:
- The Bus Came Back: After 2 cases and starting the last district, Jones comes back from his indefinite leave of absence.
- Harmful to Minors: Carter watched his own father be shot in front of him.
- He's Back!: Since Gloria cannot participate in the case due to a conflict of interest and her being emotionally distraught, Parker makes the decision to get Jones back from his indefinite leave, which apparently doesn't hesitate, despite clearly not looking physically (nor emotionally) ready to come back, saying that while he's not okay, the team needs him at the field, rather than at home.
Chief Parker: Anyway, Gloria, when we find something, Jones will be the one helping <Player> in the field. You're too close to the case!
Gloria: Jones? He's on indefinite leave following Zoe's murder! He has enough to deal with!
Jones (appearing): Well, I'm not going to say I'm alright, but... you guys need me here now.
- Missing Child: Gloria is on edge since the kidnapping of her son made even worse when Jake ends up dead. At one point, she even declares she'll be going full Cowboy Cop in finding him.
- Naked People Are Funny: Jones and the player character end up finding a pile of clothes next to the van that was used to transport Carter. They turn out to belong to James Savage, who shows up behind a bush, naked. James' sticker picture for this case is him standing behind the bush naked.
- Scenery Censor: Jones lampshades how the shrubbery conveniently covers up a naked James Savage.
- Skinny Dipping: The reason why James ended up naked was because he went skinny dipping in the river prior to the van showing up.
- Tragic Keepsake: At Carter's request, the player finds the last toy his father gave him.
- Undying Loyalty: Mandy turns out to be this for Mayor Warren, and was willing to help in the kidnapping of the Hayes family, none questions asked.
