Prevent the War, one case at the time.

Crimson Banks is the sixth district investigated in Criminal Case: Mysteries of the Past.

Known as the commercial heart of Concordia, Crimson Banks is a port-based district primarily characterized by its peacefully coexisting Italian and Irish communities that run many shops and establishments in the area, which are divided in quarters separated by a bridge everybody is free to cross... Until recent times.

Crimson Banks focuses on the Flying Squad trying to stop Franca Capecchi, wife of the late Mafia lord Vittorio Capecchi, from starting a violent Mob War between the Irish and Italian gangs of Concordia to avenge her husband's murder at the hands of an Irishman, intending to erase the peaceful truce between the communities of the district for this purpose.

    Cases Set in Crimson Banks
  1. Bridge over Troubled Water: An Irish cab driver is gutted like a pig inside of a slaughterhouse.
  2. Civil Blood: A community pillar is strangled with a flag garland inside of an Italian delicatessen.
  3. Hold Your Tongue: A police commissioner has his head split open and tongue cut off with an ax at the docks.
  4. Stick to Your Guns: A police officer is shot multiple times during a raid at a police station.
  5. Burning Bridges: A teenage plumber is decapitated amid a violent gang war at a bridge.
  6. In Love and War: A gang leader is bludgeoned to death inside of a train station during a bomb threat.

Tropes:

  • Arc Villain: Franca Capecchi, The Mafia's new boss who is hiding somewhere in the district while planning to start a Mob War and kill as many Irish people as possible to avenge her husband's murder.
  • Bittersweet Ending: The district and the whole Mob War Story Arc ends this way, as the war finally manages to be stopped for good with Seamus' death and Franca's arrest. However, a lot of people, both from the gangs and regular citizens, have died in the process, including ones you were in good terms with such as Vinnie, Bridget, or Commissioner Baldwin, while others have been incarcerated or left with nothing after the bloodshed, such as Timmy, Dermot, and Giulietta.
  • The Climax: This district serves as the climax of the Mob War Story Arc you've been dealing with since Sinner's End and Coyote Gorge, as both the Italian and Irish gangs are defeated for good by the end of it.
  • Close-Knit Community: Crimson Banks is a peaceful community where Irish and Italians, which are supposed to be mortal enemies in other districts, live without having to worry about rivalries and gang business, something that Franca Capecchi is planning to disrupt.
  • Merchant City: Crimson Banks is described as this, being the commercial heart of Concordia where merchandise shipments arrive and most of its inhabitants run shops and establishments.
  • Mob War: The latter half of the district has the Flying Squad dealing with a gang war that Franca Capecchi has successfully initiated and is also being commanded by Seamus O'Neill, who has broken out of prison and is now in charge of the Irish gang.
  • Prevent the War: The Flying Squad arrives to Crimson Banks with this purpose, intending to stop Franca Capecchi from disrupting the district's peace by starting a gang war. It fails.
  • Recurring Character: The main recurring characters for Crimson Banks are Franca Capecchi, Giulietta Capecchi, Seamus O'Neill, Adrienna Brassiere, Dermot McMurphy, and Antonio Dante
  • Shout-Out: The Additional Investigation for Crimson Banks is named "A Plague on Both Your Houses".
  • You Can't Thwart Stage One: The Flying Squad fails to prevent Franca from starting a Mob War between the Irish and Italian gangs of Concordia, leading to a bloodshed that they only manage to stop once the gangs start to weaken.
