The Stump Trio & Jessica encounter a mind-wiped Carter Brown, who starts copying aspects of Craig.
Tropes:
- Call-Forward: Jessica mentions her birthday, while Craig is looking for junk to build something. Both pay off in the following episode.
- Irritation Is the Sincerest Form of Flattery: In trying to act like a real boy again, Carter ends up imitating everything Craig does, to the point of making a cardboard mask of his head. Craig is irritated by this and tries to make Carter snap out of it.
- Laser-Guided Amnesia: Carter has lost his memory since their last encounter, and generally acts naive until he starts copying Craig.
- Recycled Animation: The shot of the cardboard mecha stepping on the "safty officer" from "The Future is Cardboard" is reused, though the context is different.
- Sealed Evil in a Can: Craig and Jessica run into Carter, encased in a cardboard box. Craig has no desire to let Carter loose again, but Jessica opens the box anyway.
- Tempting Fate: As the cardboard mecha leaves with Jessica inside, J.P. hopes it goes somewhere with no people. Cut to the mecha attacking Cardboard City.
- Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Jessica is the one who opened Carter's box, thinking it was a birthday present. She's also the one who ends up operating Carter's mecha and accidentally attacking Cardboard City.
