When Elder Con comes to the Creek, Craig, Kelsey and J.P. each have a con experience they'll never forget.

Tropes:

  • Bigger on the Inside: The episode portrays Elder Rock as being spacious enough to provide for a sizable merchant's table, an artist's alley, a makeshift screening room set up behind a curtain that also blocks out the noise and music from David's music player, and some walking space between the three. Previous episodes have shown Elder Rock's interior with one framed shot, suggesting it has about as much space as a standard house bedroom.
  • Celebrity Paradox: We see the credits for Haru: King of the Forest, which include the real-life voice actors that also voice characters in Craig of the Creek.
  • Friend-or-Idol Decision: When given the choice between a rare commemorative Slide the Ferret cup and another Ferret fan, Craig chooses the latter because such a friendship is more important to him.
  • Non-Indicative Name: Kelsey calls her book a Graphic Novel, but Yustice points out that it has no pictures. Kelsey meant that the novel was graphic in its violence.
  • The Reveal: The entire kingdom on the Other Side of the creek is based around an anime called ''Haru: King of the Forest". It started when a kid named Kenneth, the first king and Xavier and Cheyenne's older brother, started cosplaying as the main character. The Floral Theme Naming and costumes of the Other Side's subjects are also cosplays based around other characters in that anime. Furthermore, the Elders used to be friends with Kenneth when they were kids until they parted ways.
  • Right on Queue: J.P.'s plot has him trying to get into the screening room, which unfortunately is only big enough for one person. J.P. has to wait for Bobby to finish, but once he does, he finds out that a line has formed and he has to go to the back.
  • Throwing the Fight: Craig answers the last trivia question wrong on purpose so that Diane would get the rare Slide the Ferret cup.
  • Wham Shot: The characters J.P. sees in the screening room look very similar to the kids who play on the Other Side of the creek. We then get to see a picture of Kenneth, the first king and Xavier and Cheyenne's older brother, being friends with the Elders when they were kids.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: When George is about to buy one of Kelsey's book, she's ecstatic that someone is finally buying her book until George tries to pay with a credit card. Because Kelsey doesn't have a credit card reader for her phone, George isn't able to buy her book, and to add insult to injuries, the girl who's selling cat stickers next to Kelsey does have a card reader and he buys a sticker from her, much to Kelsey's frustration.
