Tropes:
- Alternate Universe: The premise of this episode is Craig, Kelsey, and J.P. imagining an alternate universe where they aren't friends.
- Awesome Aussie: Despite being one of the Ninja Kids, alternate Kelsey's Inner Monologue has an Australian accent.
- Big Brother Instinct: In the new reality, Bernard is much more loving and affectionate towards Craig.
- Continuity Nod: The episode is a retelling of "Itch to Explore," with a dash of the original pilot thrown in.
- For Want Of A Nail: In the Alternate Universe that the trio imagine where they never met, there are a number of changes that are different from the show's main timeline:
- Craig is a part of the Forest Scouts. Jason, on the other hand, is not and is a rulebreaker by their standards.
- J.P. is one of the Paintballers.
- Kelsey is part of the Ninja Kids, and Mortimor is a mouse. Kelsey's PVC sword looks the same but she calls it a katana in this timeline.
- Bobby is no longer obsessed with candy and instead carries around broccoli that he keeps dropping.
- Wildernessa now wears a plush cat and Cheesesticks is now a gigantic cat instead of a dog.
- The 10 Speeds ride skateboards instead of bikes.
- The Horse Girls play basketball instead of pretending to be horses.
- The Scratchless One is, for some reason, incredibly buff.
- Beth the Timekeeper has been replaced with a boy who plays electric guitar solos to announce when it's time for dinner.
- Even the closing credits replace the usual singer with a different one.
- In Spite of a Nail: However, in this timeline, Craig, Kelsey, and J.P. still end up meeting eventually and become friends. J.P. lampshades this:J.P.: Wait, I thought that was supposed to be a story about us never meeting.
Craig: Oh yeah. I guess we can't imagine a world where we're not friends.- Also, despite all the changes Kit still runs the Trading Tree.
- Stealth Pun: Why are the alternate-universe Horse Girls shooting hoops? They're playing H-O-R-S-E.
