A Plot: Lacey convinces the Leroys to get a new digital thermostat, and Hank provides installation help. However, Oscar and Emma's constant bickering about the exact value of "room temperature" has Hank continuously running back to change the setting.
B Plot: When Davis installs a security decal at Corner Gas, Brent and Hank suddenly become overly curious about Wanda's exact height. She shuts down their every bungling attempt to find out. Meanwhile, after Davis is a little too cocky about his height, Karen tries to prove he isn't as tall as he seems. This ends up bruising his ego.
C Plot: Lacey has a run-in with Karen over a yield sign, and Lacey's mockery of it (as well as an expired license) lead Karen to take her license away. Despite Lacey's insistence that it was "just a yield sign", she is forced to take a driver's test, with Emma as the tester.

- Serious Business: Emma and Oscar get into a knock-down drag-out war over a temperature difference of two degrees. Oscar thinks room temperature is 70 °F, Emma thinks it's 72. When the thermostat is set to 70, Emma acts like she's freezing to death. When it's set to 72, Oscar acts like he's about to have a heat stroke. Hank sets it to 71, hoping this will placate both of them, but it only results in both Emma freezing and Oscar sweltering. Eventually Hank and Lacey fix things by setting it to 20 °C, "approximately room temperature". Since neither Oscar nor Emma is willing to do the conversion, they're finally both happy.Oscar: [impressed] You've taken the metric system and used it for good!

- Thermostat Tamper Tantrum: Oscar and Emma get a new digital thermostat, and having an actual number on display rather than a more ambiguous dial causes them to debate what is considered room temperature. Oscar thinks room temperature is 70 °F, and setting it any higher causes him to act like he's about to die of heat stroke. Emma thinks room temperature is 72, and setting it any lower causes her to act like she's about to die of hypothermia. On Lacey's suggestion, they resolve the issue by switching the thermostat display to 20 °C because neither of them knows the exact conversion.
