  • Bait-and-Switch Comment: At the end of the episode as Mr. Boss and his kids decide to have some pancakes, Mr. Boss asks Numbuhs 1, 83, and 84 if they want pancakes too, like he is inviting them to join them. But when Numbuh 1 says pancakes would be great, Mr. Boss simply says then they should go to a diner and get out of his house.
  • Call-Back:
    • Brought by Numbuh 1, about Mr. Boss' debut plot to send his co-workers' daughters (and Numbuh 3 and 4) to Pluto.
    • Nigel also alludes to the incident that made him go permanently bald, which is why he decides to rescue Shaunie.
  • Child Hater: Mr. Boss freely admits that he hates everyone else's children, but he dearly loves his own kids.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • Sonia's fear of the dark returns and she lays a beatdown on Mr. Boss when he threatens to put them in a dark basement, while everyone else huddles in fear.
    • Numbuh 1 comments on how Fanny has more Rainbow Monkeys than Numbuh 3, which also foreshadows The Reveal.
  • Cutting Corners: Mr. Boss thought it would be a good idea to cut his sons’ hair and save the cash. Needless to say, the results for one of them was disastrous.
Mr. Boss: There is no way I am paying Four Bucks for a haircut at some Fancy-Shmancy Barbershop!
  • Didn't See That Coming: Numbuh 1's response to Mr. Boss being Numbuh 86's father.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Mr. Boss loves his kids and has an adorable relationship with Fanny especially. It just that he hates other kids.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: When Numbuh 1 brings up the plot to send his employees' daughters to Pluto, Mr. Boss says he would never do such a thing to his own daughter and sons, even sounding outright offended by such a suggestion.
  • Faux Horrific: Numbuh 85’s bad haircut that Mr. Boss gave him is seen as terrifying to everyone who sees, except Mr. Boss who sees it as a work of art.
  • Five-Second Foreshadowing: ...speaking of: as the Operatives are sneaking through the house; they were warned about Numbuh 85's older sister as they take a peek into the bedroom while she's still asleep. Later on, as Mr. Boss is attacking them, Sonia calls Numbuh 86 for help and on the communicator, she's in her Rainbow Monkey pajamas rubbing her eyes complaining about being woken up.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • Shaunie's hair looks awfully familiar; Numbuh 1 fails to recognize that his hair looks the same as a certain KND operative...
  • Gag Haircut: Apparently, it's so common for fathers to give their kids lousy haircuts that the KND have their own hospital ward for these unlucky victims.
  • Internal Reveal: Numbuh 86 finds out that her father, Mr. Boss, is an Arch-Enemy of the KND; specifically Sector V. Mr. Boss similarly finds out that his daughter is a member of the KND.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Numbuh 86 had no idea that her father, Mr. Boss, was one of Sector V's arch-enemies.
  • Mood Whiplash: Mr. Boss and Numbuh 86 say that they'll continue fighting for their respective sides but won't let that affect their personal relationship. This is immediately followed by Shaunie asking if Mr. Boss is still going to cut his hair, leading to Numbuh 86 to yell at her little brother for ruining the moment.
  • Never Trust a Hair Tonic: Numbuh 1 is introduced fleeing from KND scientists who think they can grow his hair with dog doo.
  • Nightmare Face: Sonia in response to Mr. Boss threatening to stick her in a dark basement.
  • Not Me This Time: Numbuh 1 again scolds Sonia for turning on a light, only to see she's standing right next to him. It's Mr. Boss who turned on the lights.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: As Numbuh 85 bemoans how his Gag Haircut ruined what had been very impressive hair, Numbuh 1 says he can relate and talks about how he permanently lost his own impressive hair.
  • Obliviously Evil: To Mr. Boss' credit, he doesn't know that he's going to set up his children for humiliation.
  • Ocular Gushers: Numbuh 86 when she says she thought her father would disown her over for being part of the KND. The other operatives find this sight rather awkward.
  • Oh, Crap!: Numbuh 86 in response to being told her father is a Child Hater and regularly fights Sector V.
  • Rank Up: Sonia and Lee. From being just trainees since their debut episode to genuine operatives of the KND.
  • The Reveal: Mr. Boss and Numbuh 86 are father and daughter.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Shaunie is reluctant to sneak out, due to how mad his dad could get about it. Numbuh 1 showing him a photo of his older brother's Gag Haircut convinces him to start packing.
  • Secret Identity: Neither Mr. Boss and Numbuh 86 had any idea that either of them is fighting the KND and the adults respectively. Fanny kept the secret to herself, fearing that her father wouldn’t love her anymore if he knew.
  • Shadow Discretion Shot: After Mr. Boss threatens to place the kids in his dark basement, Sonia, who is scared of the dark, starts whaling on him with Shaunie, 84 and Numbuh 1 himself, reacting in utter fear of this girl.
  • Trauma Button: Mr. Boss threatening to stick the kids in a dark basement causes Sonia to flip out. He realizes too late that he really pressed the wrong button.
  • Traumatic Haircut: Paddy Fulbright (aka Numbuh 85) ends up receiving one from Mr. Boss, which kick starts the whole episode's plot. The end result is this.
  • Understatement: Numbuh 85 warns Numbuh 1 and the others that his father (later revealed to be Mr. Boss) is a sorehead.
  • Wham Line: Numbuh 86 comes downstairs to ask what's going on and screams, "DADDY?!" at Mr. Boss.
  • Wham Shot: When the lights go on, Numbuh 1 sees that the boys' father is Mr. Boss.
