  • Bittersweet Ending: Bonko and Chonko finally reunite, as it turns out Chonko was Abigail's father all along. After the party, Chonko gave up being a clown, because he started finding it stupid, so he became a doctor, but hasn't contacted Bonko since then. The clowns make a Heel–Face Turn and Dr. Lincoln (formerly the clown Chonko) offers them jobs at the hospital, which they gladly accept. Bonko offers Hoagie his clown nose, making it clear that from now on he lets him handle the jokes. Bonko attempts one last joke with Mr. Lincoln. However, Bonko forgets the punchline again, resulting in him being bombarded with heavy objects from the audience again.
  • Chicken Joke: At one point, Numbuhs 2 and 5 spot a chicken at a sidewalk, leaving 5 to wonder (Non-ironically) why a chicken would want to cross the road? Despite the threat of the clowns, Numbuh 2 can't stop himself from delivering the obvious punchline.
  • Connected All Along: Numbuh 5's dad is Bonko's missing partner Chonko.
  • Freudian Excuse: Bonko the Clown used to be a happy party clown, until one day at a children's birthday party at which he was performing together with his partner Chonko. During said party, Chonko delivered a set up for "the funniest joke" (at least in Bonko's opinion), but Bonko forgot the punchline, resulting in the kids throwing heavy objects at the clowns knocking Bonko out. After he woke up, he couldn't find Chonko anymore. Because of this, Bonko vowed to never allow anyone to tell a joke, so that nobody would get hurt like he and Chonko did.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: After Numbuh 2 delivers a pun-laden report on King Arthur, Numbuh 5 whacks him after class.
  • Monster Clown: Well, more like gangster clown, but these fools aren't funny.
  • Pie in the Face: This is what the clowns do to Numbuh 2 every time he cracks a joke.
  • Vocal Dissonance: Tony Clownarelli is an elementary student clown who has a very deep adult voice and sounds nothing like a clown. It does fit his personality though.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: The clowns refuse to tell jokes and force others to do so as well to the point of kidnapping and planning to toss Numbuh 2 to the lions for telling puns. The reason why they do this is so nobody would be hurt like Bonko and Chonko did when Bonko forgot a joke at a children's birthday party.
