Nicholas attempts to ask girls out, including Aelita (which temporarily works), but cancels after they instead use the time to do some world wide web investigation.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Beehive Barrier: Aelita creates one to protect the Skidbladnir.
  • Deflector Shields: Jérémie has to use a lot of the supercomputers' power to maintain good shields so the Skid doesn't get destroyed. This causes an issue where the "Return to the Past" is disabled due to the power usage.
  • Fake-Out Make-Out: Odd and Aelita do this to protect the secret of the Factory from Hervé and Nicholas, who followed them. Since the two are pretending to be cousins, this would give them an excuse for doing so off campus. (It works too. When Hervé and Nicholas tell Sissi later, she thinks that they're crazy, more so when Aelita and Odd continue the charade by pretending to be angry with each other).
  • Friendly Fire: How Odd and Aelita are devirtualized. Aelita devirtualizes Odd to prevent him from falling into the Digital Sea, while Ulrich devirtualizes Aelita so she and Odd can get Nicholas and Hervé off their trails.
  • Hand Stomp: William kicks Odd while he is hanging on the edge.
  • Hanging by the Fingers: Odd in this case, using his claws to hold to the edge.
  • Hidden Depths: It's revealed that Nicholas is fond of fishing.
  • Kissing Cousins: In the end, Nicholas and Hervé believe this is the case between Odd and Aelita.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: When cornered by Ulrich, Yumi and Aelita, and incapable of damaging the Skid any further, William decides to retreat.
  • Milholland Relationship Moment: Played With. Odd comes up with the idea of a Fake-Out Make-Out with Aelita to get Hervé and Nicholas off of their backs from discovering the supercomputer. Jérémie is clearly annoyed by his plan when Odd suggests it, though he doesn't appear to shoot it down. After the deed is done, he refuses to talk about it, and looks really unhappy, something which Yumi picks up on.
  • Oh, Crap!: Odd has this reaction when he realizes Jim and Delmas are in his room after an ill-timed wisecrack.
  • On Three: Ulrich is told to devirtualize Aelita, so he tells her he will strike her on three. He strikes on two while her eyes are closed.
  • Plot-Mandated Friendship Failure: Aelita and Odd have an argument in which Odd is angry at Aelita because the excuse she came up with for his absence from P.E. class so Odd could sleep didn't work, while Aelita is angry that Odd expected her to lie due to his laziness. While they do make up by the end of the episode, they pretend to continue their argument at school to put an end to any gossip that could arise from their Fake-Out Make-Out plan earlier in the episode.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When it comes time to decide which to go exploring the Forest Replika and who stays behind to watch the Skid, Ulrich and Yumi are quick to volunteer for the former just to get away from Odd and Aelita's constant bickering.
  • Snark-to-Snark Combat: Aelita and Odd, throughout the episode.
  • Worf Had the Flu: While he probably wouldn't have beaten William anyway, the reason Odd doesn't last too long against him is that he ran out of arrows too quickly, and Jérémie wasn't there to give him more.
