Recap / Code Lyoko S 4 E 6

Go To

Pressured by the eager and impatient Lyoko Warriors, Jeremy agrees to launch the virtual ship Skidbladnir on its maiden voyage. Aelita, Ulrich, Yumi and Odd prepare to embark on their first journey as internauts exploring the World Wide Web. But just as our heroes discover the liquid environment of the Digital Sea, a glitch surfaces in the programming and the “Skid” loses its guidance system. The only way to fix the bug is for Jeremy to retrieve necessary materials from his dorm, which is completely locked down in a school-wide fire drill! Trapped in the network, the Lyoko Warriors find themselves faced with a new menace…

This episode contains examples of:

  • Crisis Makes Perfect: At the beginning of the episode, Jérémie tries and fails to rock-climb in P.E. class, leading to him being chastised by Jim. Naturally, he has to climb for real later on when he has to retrieve a CD from his room, but the building is blocked off due to a fire drill, making climbing the roof of the dorms the only option he has to get to his room.
  • The Greatest Story Never Told: While the Lyoko Warriors are stuck in the Skid, Jérémie must scale the rooftop of Kadic's dorms to get back to his room and get his CD, due to a fire drill closing off access to the building. Jérémie doesn't tell the others, figuring they would never believe him, but this is Subverted when Odd manages to correctly guess what Jérémie did. Odd was clearly joking, Jérémie goes on to explain and they all laugh regardless, just due to the absurdity of it.
  • Missing Mission Control: Jérémie temporarily, due to needing to get his debugging CD for the Skid.
  • Oh, Crap!: Everyone's reaction when a bug surfaces in the code of the Skid.
  • Running Gag: For once, Jim wants to talk about being in the fire rescue with the firemen.
  • Shout-Out: The song playing when cruising in the Skid is very clearly based on a bunch of classical songs, such as Tchaikovsky's "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy".
