While sitting on Jacob, the man who impersonated Michael, Sam and Fi spot a latin gang strapped to the nines coming in to kill him. Whoever hired him had him deliver strange packages on their turf, triggering a drug-gang murder response. Sam and Fi get him out alive rather than maintaining covert surveillance and the team has to get as much information out of him as possible while also saving his life.
Sam's girlfriend also brought him a job, a custody dispute gone wrong. John failed to drop his son Tommy off with his ex-wife. To complicate matters, John joined a militia group after his brother, an army ranger, died in action and Tommy is badly asthmatic and his inhaler's almost dry.
- Bad "Bad Acting": Fi has Jacob make a phone call reading off a script. Booooy howdy.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Though he doesn't plan on dying, John stays behind to delay the militia while the team takes Tommy.
- Identical Stranger: Jacob has a similar build to Michael and the ability to mimic his posture and so on such that he looks almost exactly like him on a crappy security camera.
- Littlest Cancer Patient: Asthma's not typically life-threatening, but Tommy's inhaler's almost out and they use that to as a hook to get into the militia after John rabbits.
- Papa Wolf: John has gone nutty, but when Tommy couldn't breathe he refused to leave his son's side and got a broken leg as reward.
- Right-Wing Militia Fanatic: The bad guys are this, though not white supremacists. Just generically anti-government with a dash of religious fervor.
- Shout-Out:
- "Drove so fast I think I went back in time."
- Sam labels the guy in charge of the militia the E.N.I.C. ... the Extremist Nutbag in Charge.
- Straw Hypocrite: The E.N.I.C. insists on absolute control over his compound while at the same time criticizing soldiers for obeying without question.
