Recap / Bravest Warriors S 02 E 01 Aeon Worm

Go To

Aeon Worm is the thirteenth episode of Bravest Warriors, and the season 2 debut.

Continuing on where "Catbug" left off, the Warriors have received a door from their parents that they assume leads to the See-Through Zone. No one has been able to open it.....until now.

As the Paralyzed Horse narrates, Beth wakes up in the middle of the night, with glowing eyes, and opens up the door, to which she and the horse walks across a bridge. She suddenly wakes up for real, and discovers that she can her the Horse's inner thoughts, thus making him a briefly Interactive Narrator. He is pleased, saying that she can somehow hear him in the See-Through Zone—but when she questions if she is in there, he says that they have to go back because he can't help her any further, but Beth refuses and continues going forth in the Zone. The duo stop at a spot with giant teeth, which has a giant computerized arrow reading "PICKLE CHIPS" down into it, and they jump into it.

Beth wakes up to discover her dad—but he insists she calls him "Reverend Pickle Ships". When Beth explains to him that she wanted to bust them out of the Zone, "Pickle Chips" says there is no way out, and she belongs in there, and he hands her a bowl of "cereal". Said "cereal" turns out to be the pink virus from "Catbug", which "Pickle Chips" and two other people in there eat. He hands Beth an Aeon Worm pamphlet, revealing that he has a testimonial from President Fishhead, which requires "the sacrifice of a virgin and a horse". She realizes the virgin is her and the horse is her horse, but it turns out that there is no comma between "virgin" and "horse". Suddenly, Paralyzed Horse reveals that they are stuck in the belly of the Aeon Worm, and the See-Through Zone is his father's prison, where other creatures he defeated lie as well. The others come over and call the Horse "freaky", before explaining that his knowledge prevents him—that is, until he realizes that he can move himself via telekinesis.

As the Horse runs in the background, Beth explains to "Pickle Chips" the note about "Ralph Waldo Pickle Chips", saying that Ralph Waldo gave him the name "Pickle Chips". The scenery suddenly rumbles, and Beth wants to help Pickle Chips escape, but he forces her to "accept [her] vial destiny." She proceeds to punch him, and a detractor about to cut her with a knife, and she and the Horse escape from the Worm.

As they flee from the Worm, the Horse tells Beth that the power of the Zone compells him, and he comes a Cool Horse, with armor, a mean-ass hairdo and beard, and hooves of fire. Catbug suddenly warps in, asking "WHY ARE WE RUNNING?!??!?!". However, when Beth and Catbag are forced to go to another corner, the Horse reveals he can't go with her, and sacrifices himself by remaining in the See-Through Zone and fighting the Aeon Worm. Beth accidentally falls down a hole, but Catbug saves the day and flies her up and back into the Invisible Hideout. Impossibear comes in and is angry about the racket when he's trying to make a mixtape, but is silenced when he sees the Aeon Worm. Beth, Catbug, and Impossibear come back inside the Hideout.

Horse: I fight so that she may go on..............for as I.....am just.......a horse.
