In an alternate universe, everyone is Not as You Know Them. Booth and Brennan own a nightclub ("The Lab") where a murder is committed that requires the investigative skills of Detectives Cam Saroyan and Jared Booth. Meanwhile, D.A. Caroline Julian and Bartender/Gormogon frontman Sweets also get involved in the case. However, the entire episode is revealed to be All Just a Dream brought on by Booth's meds post-brain tumor surgery, and Booth doesn't remember Brennan at all.

  • All Just a Dream: It's revealed in the last seconds that the entire episode was the product of Booth's subconcious as he recovered in a coma from his recent brain surgery.
  • Alternate Reality Episode: Booth and Brennan own a nightclub, Cam and Booth's wayward brother are detectives, and Sweets is a frontman for a band...and that's just the start.
  • Alternate Universe: There is one during Booth's post-surgery dream. Booth and Brennan are the owners of a night club called "The Lab", where a murder is committed. Booth's brother and Cam become detectives in the case, Vincent is the DJ, Arastoo is an investor wanting to buy the club, Max is a corrupt politician, Sweets is the bartender and has a band called Gormogon, Angela is the hostess, Caroline is the club's lawyer, Fisher is the chef, Wendell is the bouncer, Clark is a hip-hop impresario called C-Synch, Daisy is a waitress and Hodgins is a writer.
  • The Cast Show Off: John Francis Daley's band Dayplayer makes an appearance in the episode.
  • Cliffhanger: The episode ends with Booth not recognizing Brennan.
  • Dénouement Episode: The previous episode revealed Booth has a brain tumor. This episode is in an Alternate Universe dream where Booth and Bones are married and running a bar, and ends with Booth waking up having post-surgery amnesia.
  • Elseworld: An dream sequence in which a married Booth and Bones run a nightclub staffed by most of the cast.
  • Fake First Kiss: In Booth's dream sequence in which a married Booth and Bones run a nightclub.
  • Season Finale: The show's fourth.
  • Take That!: Sweets' surrogate declares that psychologists are glorified bartenders. Unknown if this is used for comedic effect, because they do like riling up Sweets.
