    Season 1

September 8, 1996 – November 9, 1998 (produced 1996) 

  1. "Snack Time": In the first Blue's Clues adventure, something is missing from Blue's snack and the viewers play Blue's Clues to figure it out. They also take time to recognize colors as we paint elephants, we identify the shapes of fruit, and they help match chicks on a farm. September 8, 1996
  2. "What Time is it for Blue?": What time is it now? We play Blue's Clues to figure it out. On the way, we help our friend Tickety put herself back together, pattern clothes in Steve's closet, and help the Lion Prince find and identify his jungle friends visually and through their sounds. September 16, 1996
  3. "Mailbox's Birthday": For Mailbox's birthday, there is a special celebration, and we are invited to help out. They help decorate the cake for the party by observing patterns. They also skidoo along with Steve and Blue into the present store. There, they find the perfect present for Mailbox, a stamp book, and then help Blue and Steve find it when it gets lost among a bunch of other presents. September 23, 1996
  4. "Blue's Story Time": It's storytime and Blue wants to read her favorite story, so we play Blue's Clues to figure out what the story is. Couched between the clues, we help Shovel and Pail act out Jack and Jill, arrange our photo album in order, and help three bears choose which bowl and cup belong to whom. September 30, 1996
  5. "What Does Blue Need?": As we discover what Blue needs, we take the time to help Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper find fruits by describing where they are to each other, sort the laundry by putting clothes in the right places, and help a starfish through a maze to find the ocean. October 14, 1996
  6. "Blue's Favorite Song": It's song time, but first Blue and Steve listen to sounds and determine their appropriate musical instruments, remember and repeat the line of a song, and determine which chick is singing in tune to Row, Row, Row Your Boat. Steve and the viewers deduce what Blue's favorite song is. October 7, 1996
  7. "Adventures in Art": Blue and Steve are ready to begin painting. We play Blue's Clues to figure out what else Blue would want to paint in her picture. Along the way we label and mix colors, construct a boat out of shapes with the Felt Friends, and visit an art museum where we sequence a set of pictures on display. November 18, 1996
  8. "Blue Goes to the Beach": Steve and Blue are going to the beach! In this episode, we decide what clothes would be most appropriate to wear to the beach, and experiment with physics in a game of sink or float with Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper. Then, we help sea creatures find their way back to the playground by matching their shapes with the coral reef. November 25, 1996
  9. "Pretend Time": Steve has an interest in flight and pretends to be a bird and later a plane. They help out two actual birds who are pretending to see things in clouds. They also play house with Shovel and Pail and later skidoo into a picture of a jungle and help some rare animals to find their friends (a baboon, a dragonfly, and a frog). February 17, 1997 (produced in 1996)
  10. "A Snowy Day": It's a snowy day and we need to figure out what Blue wants to do in the snow. As we find her clues, we also match snowflakes with Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper, help a calendar friend fix her mixed-up weather picture, and help Steve remember what's missing on Blue as she gets ready to go outside. December 23, 1996
  11. "The Trying Game": Blue wants to practice, but practice what? In addition to finding Blue's Clues, we practice telling time with Tickety Tock, and we figure out what Baby Bear wants to be when she grows up. Then we predict what tadpoles, caterpillars, and a spider will look like when they grow up. January 6, 1997 (produced in 1996)
  12. "Blue Wants to Play a Game": It's Game Day in Storybook World, and while everyone plays Blue's Clues to figure out what game Blue wants to play, they put together a jigsaw puzzle with Shovel and Pail, find Blue among other Blue objects, and remember their way to the gingerbread boy's house on a board game. March 16, 1997 (produced in 1996)
  13. "The Grow Show": We play Blue's Clues to figure out what Blue wants to do outside. As we look for clues, we stop to learn the process of where orange juice comes from Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper. Next, we investigate the elements of length and volume by comparing inchworms and puddles with Shovel and Pail. Finally, we categorize fruits and vegetables by where they grow with the Felt Friends. April 21, 1997 (produced in 1996)
  14. "Blue Wants to Play a Song Game!": We play Blue's Clues to figure out which song game Blue wants to play. Along the way, we sing and complete the gestures with Steve and a Sock Monkey and play If You're Happy and You Know It with Tickety Tock. Through audio and visual elements, we also determine which sea creature is dancing to the rhythm of rain, wind, and waves. April 21, 1997 (produced in 1996)
  15. "What Does Blue Want to Make?": Steve and Blue are making lots of crafts October 13, 1997 (produced in 1996)
