Beavis And Butt Head S 9 E 19 Spiritual Journey

Go To

Beavis finds the face of Jesus in his nacho chip and tries to use it to score.

Tropes:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Audrey, one of the duo's classmates refers to them as Bobby and Broderick.
  • Bait-and-Switch: Beavis keeps asking the rabbi about Jesus, which he can't answer because he's Jewish. Eventually, Beavis asks about Iron Man. The rabbi takes a deep breath... and exposits to him about Tony Stark and the Arc Reactor.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Beavis asks many questions about Jesus to the Rabbi whilst in the synagogue even after he specifies that the Jewish people don't believe Jesus is the Messiah and have little to no knowledge on the subject.
  • Groin Attack: Beavis kicks Butt-Head in the nads after he tries to eat his chip.
  • Hidden Depths: The rabbi is a huge fan of Iron Man and can't help but geek out when Beavis asks a question about him.
  • It Kind of Looks Like a Face: Beavis thinks he sees the face of Jesus in his nacho chip. Later, he thinks he sees the face of Satan.
  • Mythology Gag: Beavis is incorrectly referred to as "Bobby" by Audrey. Beavis was named after and inspired by a classmate of Mike Judge named Bobby Beavis, who had a nasally voice, which was the inspiration for Beavis's laugh. It might also be a reference to Bobby Hill, Hank Hill's son.
  • Nice Girl: Audrey knows Beavis and Butt-Head are obsessed with sex but still tries to help them out by inviting them to the Christian student group to try to get them to focus on their studies. However, even she had her limits as shown by Beavis trying to take his shirt off and Audrey looks none too pleased with what he's trying to do.
  • Overly Long Gag: Beavis continues asking questions relating to Jesus to the Rabbi while every time he responds that he has no knowledge of Jesus as that's not celebrated in Judaism.
  • Special Guest: The rabbi is voiced by Richard Kind.
