  • Damned by Faint Praise: Van Driessen really has to reach far to find something to praise Butt-Head for. For Beavis, he doesn't even bother.
Van Driessen: Here you go, Butt-Head. You have...many...qualities. [hands him his diploma]
    Butt-Head: Yeah.
Van Driessen: [unenthusiastically] And here's your diploma Beavis.
  • Not So Above It All: Although Van Driessen is usually tolerant of Beavis and Butt-Head, even he cannot think of anything special to say about them as he hands them their diplomas.
  • Oh, Crap!: Van Driessen has this when he finds out that Beavis and Butt-Head have left the classroom.
  • One Dialogue, Two Conversations: Van Driessen tells his class that they are having a "self-esteem graduation" to help boost their confidence. Beavis and Butt-Head, of course, think he is referring to an actual graduation.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here!: After Beavis and Butt-Head "graduate", they promptly leave the classroom with their diplomas and head to Maxi Mart to celebrate with nachos.
