Beavis And Butt Head S 7 E 11 Nose Bleed Recap

Butt-Head gives Beavis a nose bleed.

Tropes

  • Bloody Hilarious: A lot of laughs are had by all the blood Beavis sprays as a result of Butt-Head's "help."
  • Body Horror: Beavis' nose bleed exacerbated by Butt-Head's "help".
  • DIY Dentistry: No amateur dentistry is involved, but alongside all of Butt-Head's other misattributed nosebleed cures, he does the classic trick of tying a string to Beavis and a door and throwing it shut it that a lot of characters in fiction use to remove an aching tooth. We don't see what part of Beavis the string is attached to, but the results involve a lot of blood spraying on the screen while he howls in pain.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: It's more in a "stopped clock is right twice a day" way, but Butt-Head's final idea on how to cure Beavis' nosebleed by plugging it up with a tampon proves to be effective.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Butt-Head complains that Beavis sounds like a girl when he whines. Which gives him the idea to use a tampon to stop the bleeding.
  • Get a Hold of Yourself, Man!: Butt-Head slaps Beavis when he won't stop panicking. Even if Beavis is thankful for it, Butt-Head is angered that Beavis got blood all over his hand.
  • Hiccup Hijinks: Invoked. One of the "cures" Butt-Head tries is to scare Beavis, but all it does is make him bleed more.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Butt-Head, who spends the episode making Beavis' nose bleed worse, gets punched in the nose and suffers a nose bleed himself when he asks a girl for a tampon.
  • Men Don't Cry: Butt-Head tells Beavis to stop whining more than once because he "sounds like a girl".
  • Oh, Crap!: Beavis when he gets a nose bleed. Until Butt-Head calls 9-1-1, he assumes he's dying.
  • The Operators Must Be Crazy: Inverted with the operators being normal, while Butt-Head is… Butt-Head. He starts by accidentally dialing 4-1-1, to which the operator explains to him he wants 9-1-1. He then re-dials 4-1-1 just to ask what the number was again. Fortunately, the operator is willing to connect him there.
  • Pet the Dog: Butt-Head actively tries to help Beavis in this episode, instead of just laughing at his nose bleed.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Butt-Head fails to specify to the operator the severity of Beavis' nose bleed, to which the operator hangs up.
  • Rage Breaking Point: Beavis does this when Butt-Head slaps him one time too many. However, he stops when he notices he's bleeding.
  • Second-Person Attack: The woman that punches Butt-Head in the face is seen from the latter's P.O.V.
  • Sequel Episode: Can be seen as one to "Choke" with the roles reversed. Funnily enough, Butt-Head knew about 9-1-1 in that episode and was able to dial it perfectly in a mad panic, but is oblivious about it in this one.
  • Talk to the Fist: Butt-Head asks a woman to get him a tampon from the restroom, only for said woman to punch him in the face.
  • Tampon Run: Butt-Head gets the idea to use tampons to stop Beavis's bleeding. He goes to a bathroom to ask a girl to buy one for him, but she punches him in the nose instead.
  • Worst Aid: Unsurprisingly, Butt-Head has no idea how to care for a nosebleed, which makes the problem worse. Among his "fixes" include:
    • Slapping Beavis.
    • Scaring Beavis.
    • Placing a brown paper bag on Beavis' head.
    • Holding him upside down and making him gargle water through his nose.
    • Performing the Heimlich.
    • Tying a string to Beavis and the door.
