  • Bedlam House: The duo are sent to one at the end, but don't care, and even wear their white clothes incorrectly.
  • Corporal Punishment: Buzzcut opens up the class by saying he wishes he could do this to the students, but the school has sent over a new psychologist instead.
  • Five-Finger Fillet: Beavis does this at the start.
  • Freudian Couch: Dr. Floss has one, which the duo lay on.
  • Immediate Self-Contradiction: Dr. Floss emphasizes to the class that they are welcome to see her on a strictly voluntary basis. Until she sees the duo injuring themselves with school supplies and orders them into her office.
  • Inkblot Test: Dr. Floss gives the duo one, but all they see are euphemisms for masturbation. When she shows them the silhouette of a musician and they're confused, she decides to institutionalize them.
  • Literal-Minded:
    • Dr. Floss asks Beavis how he feels about his mother. To which he makes gestures.
    • Butt-Head is asked about his earliest memory. So he talks about how earlier that morning, he woke up with morning wood and peed.
  • Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: It's a reference to Napoleon XIV's "They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!"
  • Post-Treatment Lollipop: Beavis tries to take Dr. Floss's grape lollipop, but Butt-Head fights him for it.
  • The Shrink: Dr. Floss.
