Yes, who indeed took his diary? Not that Loser stole it first...
The twenty-second episode of Battle for BFDI and the 53rd episode of the overall series. Prior to Cake at Stake, Four asks the Have Nots to watch after the prize, which is Donut's Diary. However, it ends up disappearing at some point. After a one-vote difference between her and Flower, Taco gets eliminated. The challenge is a court case in order to find out who stole Donut's Diary; if the Have Cots guess correctly, they win, but if not, they lose. They end up guessing incorrectly and are put up for elimination.
Tropes include:
- The Alliance: Lollipop, after realizing she and Gelatin are the only non-season 1 contestants left out of the final nine, decides to form an alliance with him, to which he accepts.
- Bittersweet Ending: The episode ends with Leafy taking the heat, putting her team up for elimination. Firey ends up being forced to clean the entire railway as punishment for taking the diary (the entire railway is 2763 miles long). Leafy's team begins to hate her even more. However, Leafy and Firey finally make peace with each other and hug, Taco makes a friend in Leafy, Gelatin and Lollipop make an alliance, and Blocky and Woody begin to treat each other nicely.
- Courtroom Episode: The episode's challenge is a court case to find out which Have Nots member stole Donut's Diary.
- Decided by One Vote: Taco and Flower, the bottom two during Cake at Stake, had a one-vote difference, the closest voting ever in BFDI.
- Epic Fail: Firey and Leafy finally make peace, and hug it out. Of course, Firey is made of, well, fire and Leafy is a leaf, so Leafy ends up burning to ash, much to Firey's horror. Later in The Stinger, they hug again with the exact same results, and Firey tells himself to stop.
- Evil Is Hammy: Imaginary Leafy, in Firey's testimony.
- Evil Laugh: Imaginary Leafy (again) in Firey's testimony.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Leafy lies that she stole the diary to prevent Firey from being hated. This gets her team up for elimination, but her actions gave her a record (at the time) amount of votes from the viewers.
- Hidden Depths: Teardrop is shown to enjoy making comic books with ASCII art.
- Letting the Air out of the Band: Happens as Flower, upon finding out that she's safe, dances and says, "Let's party, Taco!", then realizes that Taco has been eliminated.
- Pet the Dog: Leafy stands up for Taco from Flower's bullying and jumps rope with her. Considering her treatment from Book and Bell, Taco needed this. Plus, since it was her elimination, it's a happy ending for her.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: Leafy has red eyes in Woody's flashback.
- The Reveal: This episode reveals what happened to Firey and Leafy after the Season 1 finale: Firey lost control of the hang glider and crashed, causing the rest of the contestants to find them and chase after Leafy. Afterward, Firey simply chose to walk away and pretend to not care about Leafy anymore so he wouldn't get lynched by Golf Ball's angry mob for associating with Leafy.
- Snakes Are Sinister: In his flashback, Woody mistakes Leafy's arms for snakes and imagines more snakes in place of Taco's fillings.
- Verbal Backspace: When Blocky suddenly realizes that Donut's Diary went missing:Blocky: Hey guys, good news! The diary we're meant to be looking after... went missing. Wait, that's bad news. Sorry, let me restart: Hey guys, bad news-
- Wham Episode: Leafy and Firey finally resolve their conflict, Gelatin and Lollipop form an alliance, Woody and Blocky become friends, and Taco is eliminated by just one vote.
