Recap / Asura's Wrath E6 "Confessions of a Mask"

Go To

Upon awakening, Asura is confronted by Yasha, his former brother-in-law, who tells him to move on and to forget about Mithra. Asura refuses and fights Yasha despite the loss of his arms. Though he manages to damage Yasha's mask, he is ultimately overwhelmed and cleaved in half by one of Yasha's energy blasts.

Tropes:

  • Answers to the Name of God: When Asura demands who Yasha thinks he is to allow Mithra's suffering, Yasha merely answers "God."
  • Boss-Only Level: The only part of the episode is Asura's fight with Yasha.
  • Broke Your Arm Punching Out Cthulhu: Having lost both of his arms killing Wyzen, Asura is nowhere near as powerful when Yasha shows up.
  • Downer Ending: The episode ends with Yasha striking Asura down for the second time, Yasha taking no pleasure in it.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Yasha is more annoyed by the mantra Wyzen wasted trying to kill Asura than he is about his companion's death.
  • Half the Man He Used to Be: Yasha's killing blow has him karate chopped so hard, it cleaves the very Earth beneath Asura in half.
  • Lethal Lava Land: With the heat from Gongen Wyzen's finger on-entry and Asura's Wrath mantra, the whole battlefield is a crater with rivers of magma surrounding it.
  • No-Sell: When Asura tries to "knock [his] mask off", Yasha barely flinches, claiming that his attacks aren't even worth dodging.
  • Use Your Head: Having literally blown his arms off in his fight with Wyzen, Asura headbutts Yasha so hard his mask cracks. It's the only attack that is in any way effective, this instigating Yasha to stop trying to reason with Asura and just put him down.
