Rene is finally released from the hospital. Meanwhile ARGUS, New Team Arrow, and Oliver each plot to take Diaz without any help from the other.

  • Armor-Piercing Question: Quentin asks if someone as powerful as Black Siren really is as scared of a thug like Diaz. Her answer is yes; after all she saw what he did to his childhood bully.
  • Badass in Distress: Oliver is captured by Anatoly, since he was dumb enough to confront him without any backup. The episode ends with Diaz arranging it to have Oliver's bail revoked and have him sent to jail until his trial....which is next week.
  • Big Damn Heroes: John is able to save New Team Arrow from begin executed by the arms dealers in the warehouse.
  • The Bus Came Back: Rene having not been seen since "Collision Course".
  • Defiant Captive: Oliver is not afraid of Diaz, even mocking his strength while being beaten up.
  • Downer Ending: Diaz has the corrupt portion of the SCPD arrest Oliver, putting him on trial without any chance of bail.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Despite having sold his soul to Diaz, Anatoly is disgusted by the pointless and brutal way he beats up a chained Oliver and how he knifes Oliver in the fight.
    • Black Siren isn't so sure about him these days, either.
  • Evil Versus Evil: New Team Arrow walks right into an ambush the Quadrant laid out for the Scorpions, Diaz's old gang.
  • Friendship Moment:
    • Diggle apologizes to New Team Arrow for the part he played in the feud that destroyed their team. They accept it without hesitation and they're able to work in tandem like in the the old days. (something they were quite unwilling to do with Oliver when he apologized).
    • Anatoly has one at the end when he gives Oliver some bandages and tries to help him escape before Diaz interferes.
  • Get Out!: Quentin yells this at Black Siren, after he learns of her true alliance.
  • Heroic BSoD: After being discharged from the hospital, Rene finds himself unable to work in the field because of his fear of death.
  • Idiot Ball: Oliver thinks if gets Anatoly reinstated as Pahkan of the Bratva, he can get him back on his side. It fails because Anatoly has no desire to go back to a brotherhood that cast him out, and besides Diaz can make him a rich man. And because Oliver decided to confront him without any back up leading him to be easily captured. Subverted, as this turned out to be part of Oliver's plan to try and get close to Diaz and try to take him down. Then double subverted as Diaz gets the upper hand in a fight and hands Oliver over to the police.
  • Ignored Epiphany: Anatoly considers Oliver's claim that he's betraying his principles by working with Diaz .... and concludes that Oliver is how he ended up with him in the first place. At least until the end of the episode, when he realizes that Diaz is utterly sadistic and Oliver still sticks to his principles even if it's unpragmatic.
    • Oliver continues to believe that he has to go it alone because he is stronger without a team, even after Anatoly tells him he is an idiot to believe that. Given Anatoly's signing-on to join with Diaz after being kicked out of The Bratva, he knows what he's talking about.
  • Informed Attribute: Almost borders on Character Shilling. Black Siren claims that she is more afraid of Diaz than of anybody else she ever worked with, as he isn't just filled with hate, but not even human inside. Remember, she worked together with Zoom, the guy who wanted to blow up the entire multiverse, and Diaz is just a completely human, non-superpowered crime lord in a corrupt city with connections to authority figures, and whose motive turns out to be that he needs to do so this to not feel scared because some kid picked on him DECADES ago on top of that!
  • Internal Reveal:
    • Quentin finds out that Black Siren is working with Diaz.
    • New Team Arrow and Diggle find out that Diaz is now part of the Quadrant.
  • I Own This Town: As Diaz puts it during his meeting with Quentin: You are the mayor of my city.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: The climax of the episode is brutal braw between Oliver and Diaz. Oliver would've won had Diaz not cheated by using a knife.
  • Man of Wealth and Taste: In his first scene this episode, Diaz tasks a tailor with making him a suit worth well more than 100,000 dollars.
  • Meaningful Name: The title most likely refers to both Anatoly's original full support of Diaz to being more unsure that he made the right choice and the New Team Arrow working with John Diggle again after previously stating they'd never work with him again.
  • Nerves of Steel: When Oliver breaks into his home and puts his men to sleep, Anatoly isn't troubled in the slightest.
  • No Sympathy: Rene, when he finds out that Oliver is going solo having driven John and Felicity away. In contrast, Curtis was still capable of showing compassion to Felicity when he found out.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Quentin realizes that Black Siren's relation with Diaz is not unlike the one he had with Damien Darhk.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Quentin realizes that Black Siren is genuinely scared of Diaz.
  • Out of Focus: Felicity is almost entirely absent from the episode, only appearing at the very end, overhearing the news of Oliver being taken in, alongside William and Raisa.
  • Pet the Dog: Anatoly, see Friendship Moment above.
  • Play-Along Prisoner: Oliver dliberately let Anatoly capture him to get to Diaz.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: Turns out Zoe has been aware of her father's vigilante activities for quite some time.
  • Trapped in Villainy: Black Siren claims that she is doing his bidding because she is mortally afraid of Diaz.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: Rene is still acting like a jerk, mockingly asking John if he wants a thank you after the latter just saved his life.
  • Villain Has a Point: Anatoly gives Oliver some honest advice on how his believe that "being distracted" is what allowed Diaz to takeover Star City is complete bull. However, this is played with, as Oliver did spend just as much time fighting everyone else as he did with Diaz.
  • We ARE Struggling Together: Diggle's squad at ARGUS, New Team Arrow, and Oliver are each trying to stop Diaz in their own way without any help from the other. At first; Diggle and New Team Arrow team up. Oliver attempts to go solo which ends with him being captured by Diaz.
  • Why Don't You Just Shoot Him?: Quentin basically asks Black Siren this, pointing out that there is no way that Diaz - an ordinary street thug with delusions of grandeur - should be a threat to her, a metahuman murderer who can demolish buildings with a shout and power enough to liquefy the brain of a metahuman with a healing factor.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Oliver tries to convince Anatoly that this is the fate Diaz has in store for him, regardless of how efficient he is.
