Sasha and Grime must retrieve a legendary warhammer to convince the Toad Lords to support their rebellion.

    Full Recap
TBA...

Tropes:

  • Accidental Misnaming: The Toads of the Toad Council keep calling Sasha a "hummus" instead of a "human".
  • Actor Allusion: Captain Bufo wears samurai-styled armor, a nod to his voice-actor Daisuke Tsuji being best known for voicing the samurai protagonist in Ghost of Tsushima.
  • Bait-and-Switch Comment: The Toad Commanders' reaction to Grime's presentation.
Bufo: You took a huge risk coming here to gain support for your "rebellion"...
Beatrix: And it paid off! We froggin' loved it!
  • Berserk Button: Sasha does not take it well at all when she finds out that Anne and Marcy are together and helping King Andrias without her, beating up the toad guards and demanding the tower leaders explain what it would take for them to swear loyalty.
  • Bittersweet Ending: While Sasha and Grime get Barrel's Warhammer and the alliance of all three towers, she also loses her friendship with Braddock and Percy due to mistreating them.
  • Blood Knight: When the narwhal worm shows itself Grime pretty much thinks it's a death sentence and he couldn't be happier because it's one heck of a fight he's getting before he goes.
  • Both Sides Have a Point: While Braddock and Percy aren't wrong about Sasha treating her friends poorly and caring more about results for her goals than about their safety, Grime is also very reasonable in his point that Braddock and Percy were physically, mentally and emotionally cut out for only so much service they could give the toads' mission before they'd hit their limit and need to quit, so this would have happened eventually even if Sasha had chosen to act differently.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Sasha returns alongside Grime, Percy and Braddock to show how far they've come in their plans for rebellion.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Sasha lassos the narwhal worm and directs it at the tower, reasoning that they'll just have to bring the hammer — worm and all — to complete their quest. Halfway there, she realizes the worm isn't following her commands anymore and will kill the assembled toads when it hits the tower.
  • Easily Impressed: This seems to apply to everyone at the toad council. At the beginning of the episode after Grime pitches his idea to invade Newtopia and take over the country, there is a Bait-and-Switch Comment before the Toad Commanders declare they love the idea and all the toads cheer in support. While Sasha, Grime, Percy, and Braddock are on their mission, the meeting continues with one toad showcasing "armor customization", which is also met with cheers and Bufo himself stating he likes the design of the duck on the armor.
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: Two toads notice Sasha riding the narwhal worm back to the tower, with one explaining to his friend that it is heading straight for them. They both stare at each other quietly for a moment before letting out terrified screams.
  • Eye Color Change: When Sasha tries to lift the hammer a third time, fueled by her anger that Anne and Marcy are just fine without her, Sasha's eyes flash pink for a split second — the same color as the Calamity Gem she represents.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: Just like Anne in "Anne or Beast?" and Marcy in "Marcy at the Gates", Sasha's eyes briefly change color in this episode.
  • Given Name Reveal: It turns out Captain Grime's full name is "Grimothy", as revealed by his sister. He's clearly embarrassed about it.
  • Hard Truth Aesop: As Grime says, everybody has limitations and Percy and Braddock have reached theirs due to Sasha's selfishness. He also says that every dream has a price and not everyone will be willing to pay it.
  • History Repeats: Sasha loses another pair of friends because she cared more about her own desires than their well-being.
  • I Gave My Word: Captain Aido declares that retrieving Barrel's Warhammer is the one and only thing that will convince the toads to support Sasha and Grime for their invasion. Once they deliver the hammer, Aido grants them the support of all three towers for their invasion without dispute.
  • Impossible Task: Retrieving Barrel's Warhammer is said to be a suicide mission.
  • Internal Reveal: Sasha learns that Anne has joined Marcy and both are working with King Andrias.
  • It's All About Me: Sasha's quest for the hammer is largely driven by news of Anne and Marcy teaming up, clearly jealous that they're doing fine without her. On her attempt to drive the narwhal worm, she ignores Percy and Braddock's pleas to save them, even though she promised to; when they leave her afterwards, they call her out on caring more about her own needs than anyone else.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: Percy and Braddock finally leave Sasha after she jeopardized their safety.
  • Mic Drop: Sasha instructs Grime to drop his microphone for effect during their presentation to the Toad Lords.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: Sasha and Grimes sucessfully retrieve Barrel's Warhammer, thus earning the support of all three Toad Towers for their rebellion. But Sasha loses her friendship with Percy and Braddock due to how she endangered their lives during the mission.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Grime stops Sasha from pursuing Percy and Braddock after they decide to quit, as you can't ask people to give up more than they are willing to.
  • Rocket-Powered Weapon: Barrel's Warhammer, seemingly drawing power from Sasha, gains glowing runes and fires rockets out the back end to enhance the power of its strike.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Realizing that Sasha will prioritize what she wants, even over their very lives, Percy and Braddock decide they have had enough and leave the army.
  • Super-Strength: When her Eye Color Change happens, Sasha briefly gains the strength to pull Barrel's Warhammer free, even though all four of them were previously barely able to budge it.
  • Take a Third Option: Barrel's Warhammer is too heavy to pry from the narwhal worm, and the worm itself is too tough to be injured by any other weapon. Rather than give up, Sasha lassos its horn and brings the whole worm to the tower, nearly killing them all.
  • Tempting Fate: When Sasha and the toads find the hammer with apparently no beast in sight, Percy asks in amazement if life is really going to be this easy for a change. Then when they all try to free the hammer, they end up getting attacked by the narwhal worm when it is revealed to be the "island" the hammer is on.
  • That's No Moon: What Sasha and the toads think is an island is actually the head of a massive narwhal worm.
  • Villain Episode: Another episode that focuses solely on the antagonists, Grime and Sasha.
  • What You Are in the Dark: Sasha promises Percy and Braddock that if they think the mission is too dangerous, she will turn back as soon as they give her a signal. But when it comes time, Sasha decides she is too close to give up and presses on, despite them giving the signal. Percy and Braddock as well as every toad at the meeting nearly die because of it.
  • You're Insane!: When Grime learns Sasha plans on taking the narwhal worm to the Toad Council, he calls her insane, and that he loves it.
