    Full Recap
TBA...

This episode has examples of:

  • Animate Inanimate Object: The first creatures Anne and Sprig find are grub-like creatures called grubbles, which resemble living eclairs, that are supposed to be delicious.
  • Artificial Stupidity: During The Stinger, the robot kept walking into the exact same tree presumably for a long period of time. By the time it realizes this, it turns around the tree... only to walk into another tree.
  • Bread, Eggs, Breaded Eggs:
    • Anne wonders if she could get a cool hunting weapon, like a crossbow, a kunai, or a crossbow that shoots kunai.
    • Hop Pop warns that they may face creatures that are poisonous, or psychic, or poisonous and psychic.
  • Eat Dirt, Cheap: Part of the Plantar hunting technique is to taste the dirt for signs of prey. Anne reluctantly does this while tracking the scorpoleo, and finds traces of Polly's biscuits.
  • Face Palm: Since he has no hands, Hallucination Sprig does this with his tongue.
  • Gilligan Cut: Twice with Anne.
Anne: This is gonna be totally awesome! (cut to her and Sprig on the muddy ground) This is not awesome.
    ...
Anne: (tracking down the scorpoleo) I can totally do this! (is at a crossroads) I totally can't do this.
  • Helpful Hallucination: Anne gets a vision of Sprig (who admits to being a "stress-induced hallucination") reminding her about the Plantar hunting technique.
  • Imagine Spot: Anne has a daydream where she is an awesome bow hunter and takes out a giant, already prepared and cooked chicken.
  • Inner Thoughts, Outsider Puzzlement: After saving the Plantar family, Anne thanks Hallucination Sprig for helping her, who winks at her. The camera then cuts to the Plantar family looking confused at Anne, who is smiling and looking at space.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: Anne claims to have the eyes of a hawk as she sets out into the forest. Had Sprig not stopped her, she would have walked right off a cliff.
  • Left the Background Music On: The epic rock song that plays over a montage of Anne running through the woods is actually being sung by Hallucination Sprig.
  • Magic Dance: The last part of the Plantar ritual is doing an unusual frog dance to lure your prey toward you. Anne pulls off an impressive one to save the Plantars from the scorpoleo.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: The scorpoleo, half scorpion, half lion.
  • Mock Meal: The dinner Hop Pop presents the family in the opening turns out to be a stick, because they have run out of food.
  • Our Manticores Are Spinier: The "scorpoleo" that captures the Plantar family bears a slight resemblance to the manticore of mythology, except with a wolf-like appearance.
  • Pit Trap: Sprig makes a pit trap to trap the grubbles. Later, Anne makes a bigger one for the scorpoleo.
  • Secret Snack Stash: Polly keeps biscuits hidden in her bow.
  • Serendipitous Symphony: When Anne "listens to the music of nature", it takes the form of various nature sounds combining into a song.
  • Serious Business: When Anne said she expected her and Sprig to use weapons, he adopts a serious expression and tells her "weapons are for barbarians".
  • Shout-Out:
    • In her daydream about hunting, Anne is dressed as Katniss Everdeen.
    • The P.O.V. Shot from the scorpoleo is modeled after those of the Predator (and has a similar mandibular mouth as well).
  • The Stinger: The same robot from the previous episodes tries to go around a pair of trees.
  • Watch Out for That Tree!: At the end of the episode, the robot is trying to walk through a tree. It eventually finds its way around the tree, only to then walk into a second one.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: Anne's reaction when Sprig starts showing off the hunting dance.
