When Julien finds out Maurice has been moonlighting as adviser to the Rat King, he feels betrayed and a fight leads to Julien exiling Maurice from the kingdom.

- Literal-Minded: The jumping rats have a problem with this. Maurice trying to compliment them by saying they're doing a "bang up job" causes them to immediately stop what they're doing and start destroying things (doing a bang up job) instead. This takes a darker turn later in the episode when they are present for a fight between Maurice and Julien and take Maurice wishing to never see Julien again as an instruction to have Julien assassinated.
- Too Dumb to Live: Left to their own devices, the jumping rats first instinct is to build a maze to hide their food in, which leads to them being unable to find it.
