The issue begins with in a news program discussing with many other special guests, including Laslow Kosak, about both the nuclear incident in Hicho and the anti-EDF protest, when Col. Hitzok was injured on it. The whole show is basically a resume of the events from the last issue, while also discussing the actions of the Ekosiaki government regarding the whole incident.

It turns out that show was watched by Hitzok himself, who was recovering from his wounds in the hospital, while Erma and Hitzok's men were paying a visit to him. Hitzok cannot avoid to curse the people who attacked them, to the grade to call them "ingrates" since they were the same people he swore to protect them. Since his injuries were somewhat serious, he will remain in the hospital for a few months.

Meanwhile, Erma, Sgt. Tzoquotah and a nameless Hitzok's aidee were discussing what to do next now that Hitzok will be out of action for a good time. Both males complain that they would have to replace him and none of them had experience dealing with civilian unrest, but Erma tries to encourage them, thinking they could do a good job, while Erma herself will try to speak with Dael Valderzha and his men after what they did in the anti-EDF protest when Hitzok was shot.

Regarding Dael, everyone in the base were both congratulating him for what he did in Hicho, and also warned him because he is lucky he didn't end in jail, because Col. Hitzok was injured during the chaos when Dael used the aerodyne's exhausts to disperse the protesters. Erma appears before them, surprising them in a very precipitously way, since they barely could give her the Military Salute, but Erma's doesn't seem to mind anyways.

Erma starts to discuss with them about about the current situation in the planet and she also joins with the rest of the members of Dael's comrades regarding their opinion on Dael's actions in Hicho, but at least Erma is more polite and descriptive regarding what was right and what went wrong with Dael's actions. Her main point regarding the whole heroic incident is while Dael was lucky to prevent the situation to escalate into a full massacre, he also made the mistake of not coordinating with the rest of the ground forces.

Meanwhile, Erma starts to tell her own similar experience regarding a similar situation she had when she was a cadet in Danet (Toki's homeworld) years ago: She was flying a training aerodyne outside academy days as a punishment for skipping training just to go to make-up, partly because she didn't feel OK in those days and she wanted to do something feminine, an act that got her into trouble. While this was going on, a female Rodent (mouse) girl with a really big anti-tank rifle went into a murdering rampage all over the capital city of Danet from a distant building. Due of the power of the gun, even police helicopters couldn't do anything against her, so Erma, without authorization from her seniors since she was a cadet at the time, went to face the sniper by herself, despite her aerodyne didn't had any weapons. Erma had to improvise by using the targeting lasers from the aerodyne, managing to temporally blind the sniper with them, but the sniper previously managed to shoot against Erma's aerodyne and she was able to damage the vehicle, causing Erma to lead the aerodyne to outside of the city, so she could bail out from it safely before it could explode. So it ends the whole flashback as well.

The whole issue ends with Erma basically advice her men about unexpected situations that could happen in any moment of their job as a soldiers, and how they should act according with the situation, not to mention they should take into account the repercussions of their acts as well, and how they should act in a neutral way, free of any political or personal agenda. Unaware for them, someone else was spying them by unknown means...

Tropes:

  • All There in the Manual: According with Word of God recently in his personal homepage, the Rodent girl was under the Mind Control of The Net as a random situation created by it. How much canonical is this is still in the air, since Gallacci stated he doesn't like how that scene came out, very likely because it was created when the Albedo universe did not have very established settings yet and technically speaking, it goes against what is already set in canon, but he pointed out the whole situation shows the amorality of both The Net and the Creators.
  • BFG: The Rodent sniper brought a really big sniper rifle with her, managing to kill many people with it and even managed to destroy some police helicopters as well.
  • Damned by Faint Praise: Dael Valderzha twice by both his friends and by Erma herself, since while everyone congratulated him by his action, he is also criticized for acting by himself, unaware he could get someone killed by his actions, like Col. Hitzok.
  • For the Evulz: By Word of God, this is very likely the reason why both The Net and the Creators caused the whole flashback incident in Danet, regardless the number of dead they caused by it. See above for details.
  • Mind Control: The sniper girl was under the control of The Net by unknown means.
  • Whole Episode Flashback: Most of this issue is regarding a whole flashback when Erma was a cadet training in Danet in her younger days.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: In a very literal version of this trope, as the sniper girl was a mouse, we don't know what happened with her afterwards when Erma blinded her with the lasers of her aerodyne.
