Go To

The sixtieth episode of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.

Wes Weasely sells out to Robotnik and lures Sonic, Tails, and all of their friends to a yacht set to sink under the guise of a Hero of the Year ceremony to thank Sonic.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Absurdly-Long Limousine: Weasely rides one with a helipad, a tennis court, a Mariachi band, and a hot tub at the beginning of the episode that gets hijacked by Scratch and Grounder. It has no problem getting around the mountains despite its length.
  • Anti-Alcohol Aesop: This episode's "Sonic Says" segment has Scratch and Grounder sharing a single bottle of beer. Tails informs them that alcohol is bad for them, and they collapse on top of each other. Sonic then tells the audience that alcohol is addictive and unhealthy.
  • Attack! Attack... Retreat! Retreat!: This exchange between Scratch and Grounder when Robotnik orders them to send Sonic's escape-proof cell to the bottom of the sea:
    Grounder: Faster, faster!
(Grounder starts turning his end of the winch faster, causing Scratch to lose control of his end.)
    Scratch: Slower, slower!
  • Bowdlerize: The Toon Disney broadcast of this episode cuts out its "Sonic Says" segment.
  • Can't Hold His Liquor: In this episode's "Sonic Says" segment, Scratch and Grounder collapse after sharing a single bottle of booze.
  • Car Meets House: After showing the clip from "The Robotnik Express" where the titular bomb-loaded train crashes into Robotnik's Emporium of Devastation, Destruction, and Demolition, Sonic gets Weasely to crash another train through Robotnik's fortress and get it to push Robotnik, Scratch, and Grounder away.
  • Clip Show: Clips from previous episodes are shown in both Sonic and Robotnik's award ceremonies.
  • Fan Disservice: During Robotnik's award ceremony, a shot of him wearing a bikini is shown at one point. It even made the image for the page itself.
  • Heel–Face Revolving Door: Weasely helps Robotnik with his plan to trap everyone on a yacht set to sink in exchange for his own shopping channel. When he finds out that he's not allowed to actually broadcast it, he sets out to save Sonic so he can save his friends. Sonic himself lampshades Weasely's tendency to keep switching sides.
Sonic: Don't tell me you're switching sides again!
  • I Lied: When Sonic surrenders to Robotnik in exchange for the latter setting his friends free, Robotnik reveals to him that he lied to him, and that to keep them from saving him, he's going to keep them locked in their cages and sink the yacht anyway.
  • Involuntary Smile of Incapacitation: In the "Sonic Says" segment, Scratch briefly gets a dazed smile after he has shares a bottle of beer with Grounder, and they both end up collapsing.
  • Literal-Minded: When Weasely's limo is stopped at a road block, Scratch says, "Nobody move!" When he sees Grounder just standing next to Weasely, he asks him why he's not tying him up. Grounder tells Scratch that he told him not to move. Scratch clarifies that he only meant Weasely and his cronies, and as he and Grounder are the bad guys, they're supposed to move.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: Weasely helps Sonic escape from his prison as a result of not being allowed to broadcast the shopping channel Robotnik promised him.
  • Near-Villain Victory: Sonic surrenders to stop Robotnik from drowning his friends by sinking a yacht, only for Robotnik to lie and set the yacht to sink anyway, with Sonic trapped at the bottom of the ocean in an escape-proof cell that would cut off his oxygen supply if anyone tried to save him. Robotnik promises Wes Weasely his own shopping channel in exchange for helping him with this plan, but it is later revealed that Weasely isn't actually allowed to broadcast it. This inspires Weasely to turn against Robotnik and help Sonic save his friends.
  • Pet the Dog: When Scratch and Grounder succeed in their limo-jacking, Robotnik praises them for a job well done, not getting mad at them once. Grounder himself admits to Scratch that nothing has gone perfect for them before, and isn't sure what to do in this situation.
  • Talking with Signs: When Weasely tries to run his shopping channel, he expects a ring from his phone, who instead holds up a sign that says, "NARY A RING".
  • Trouser Space: When Weasely finds out from Robotnik's camera that Robotnik told him he wasn't allowed to actually broadcast his shopping channel, he pulls his contract out of his boxer shorts.
  • Waxing Lyrical: When Sonic reveals to Robotnik that Weasely helped him escape, he says, "Go ahead, Robotnik, it's your party, cry if you want to."
