While Finn and Jake try to watch their favorite movie,
Heat Signature, with Marceline and her ghost friends, she tricks them into believing that they have become vampires, but the ghosts threaten to take the prank too far.
Tropes
- Bedsheet Ghost: Marceline's ghost friends, but more translucent. One of them looks like someone threw a blanket over a couple of balls.
- Big "NO!": LSP gets a cool slow-motion one when Finn kicks over her can of beans.
- Blatant Lies: Finn and Jake's promise to stay away from the ghosts' house.
- Buxom Beauty Standard: Wendy is uh... well-endowed for a ghost.
- Calling Your Attacks: Finn performs a "Vampire Kick!", followed by Marceline calling the exact same attack shortly after.
- Combat Tentacles: The ghosts grow these to suck out Finn and Jake's brains.
- Conscience Makes You Go Back: Played with. Marceline's guilt causes her to go to Finn and Jake as the ghosts try to kill them, but she doesn't try to save them because of the universe's mechanics:
Finn: You're here now to beat up those ghosts and save us!
Marceline: Oh, no, vampires can't beat ghosts... It's like a
rock-paper-scissors thing. I just came to apologize.
Finn: Aw, man...
- Deadly Prank: Played with; Marceline's ghost friends actually wanted Finn and Jake to die. They and Marceline had tricked Finn and Jake into thinking they were vampires, whose powers include flight. The extended prank culminated in the ghosts teaching them how to fly by knocking them off a tower (Marceline, drawing the line at actual harm, catches them). The ghosts did it because it would have been funny.
- Everyone Has Standards: Marceline is OK with tricking Finn and Jake into acting stupidly and trashing Lumpy Space Princess's campsite, but is not happy when the ghosts start physically injuring Finn and Jake.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Marceline had no qualms pranking Finn and Jake and trashing Lumpy Space Princesses home, but she was willing to rescue her friends when almost killed (twice).
- Killer Rabbit: The three ghosts look like cute cartoon Bedsheet Ghosts, but are genuinely evil, seeing as how they try to kill Finn and Jake two times. The first because it amused them and the second because they wanted to feed on them.
- Our Ghosts Are Different: Despite looking like stereotypical cartoon ghosts, they possess some gimmicks — they have a natural superiority over vampires, can enlarge themselves to the size of two stores, and produce gut-sucking tentacles from their bodies.
- Two-Faced: Booboo literally has two faces, vertically stacked.
- Vampire Vannabe: Finn and Jake temporarily become this upon deciding the coach was way too uncomfortable and the only reasonable solution was to gain the ability to float. Something vampires do.
