The newest guardians of the Baudelaires turns out to be an entire village, who take them under their wing; a literal metaphor as the entire town is obsessed with crows. The trio's mission to rescue Duncan and Isadora continues.

- Freeze-Frame Bonus: When Klaus goes to look at Hector's books, two of those visible have the same cover design as the book series and another is a history of Lucky Smells, the mill from season 1.
- This Looks Like a Job for Aquaman: Unfortunately subverted: Mr. Poe's "talent for bureaucracy" actually comes up where it might be useful outside of his job; however, he only makes the situation worse and tightens the noose on a man who's not Count Olaf.
- Villain Song: There's a lot of scatting as Count Olaf is seen trying and failing to make one happen.
