Crayak's assault annihilated three of my portions. But that was less than a tenth of what now constituted the Ellimist.
Crayak still inhabited his dark, gloomy world. Still surrounded himself with sycophants and toadies. Still possessed the weapons and abilities he'd had. And now his power was not so much greater than mine. If at all.
"It seems I have survived," I said to him. "Let's see if you do as well."
The Ellimist, Animorphs - The Ellimist Chronicles

Four months ago, Elphaba would never have dared attack the Emerald City head-on. Even with her powers, she wasn't bullet-proof, and it would have been suicide to tackle such a well-defended location with so many guns trained on the sky at once, hence why she'd gone to the trouble of sneaking into the palace on her last visit. Since then, though, she'd changed: empowered by witch-crystal and hardened through experience on the battlefield, she had been given the power to match wills with the Empress herself... and the Wizard's men were still using the same training, the same tactics, the same guns – most of which would have been regarded as amusingly quaint in the world she'd just left.

"I got faster. Didn't you?"
Barry Allen to Eobard Thawne, The Flash (2014), "Heart of the Matter, Part 2"

Rossieu: Is it just me, or are these Gunmen getting weaker?
Yoko: (Casually blasts the cockpit of a Gunmen that was sneaking up on Rossieu) These guys are just as strong as ever, so that just means we're getting tougher.

"I know they're all dead tired, and they may not feel like it at the moment, but I think today proved that our Digimon are getting stronger and stronger! [...] I remember the last time they took on Shellmon, Agumon had to Digivolve into Greymon before we could finally beat him, and even then it was close, but this time they beat him easily, even without Greymon!"
