  • Another: Kouichi's mother, Ritsuko, died not long after giving birth to him at 27, while her younger sister Reiko was a 15-year-old middle school student. Reiko's age is significant because her sister was a casualty of the curse that strikes parents and siblings of Class 3-3 members, which was Reiko's class at the time.
  • Attack on Titan: Zeke Yeager is ten years older than his half-brother, Eren.
  • Black Clover:
    • Noelle's oldest brother, Nozel, is fourteen years older than her.
    • Leopold is only a teenager while his older siblings, Fuegoleon and Mereoleona, are both in their thirties. They're also two of the most badass people in the kingdom, so it's understandable that he both idolizes and envies them.
  • Bleach:
    • Sora Inoue is 15 years older than his sister Orihime, which led him to get a Promotion to Parent when he ran away from their Abusive Parents with her. At the time of his death, he was 27 and Orihime was 12. He provides the page quote when describing his relationship to Orihime in the manga, and also describes Orihime as being more like a daughter to him than a sister in the anime.
    • Late in the series, it is revealed that Shunsui Kyoraku had a much older brother, who married and had a young daughter, Shunsui's lieutenant Nanao Ise, when Shunsui was an adolescent, implying an age gap that's equivalent to 10-15 human years.
  • Bocchi the Rock!:
    • Hitori "Bocchi" Gotoh, who is 15 as a first-year in high school, has a little sister Futari who is 10 years younger than she is. In fact, Futari is too young to attend one of Kessoku Band's live concerts, or to be left home alone without a sitter.
    • Nijika Ijichi, one of Hitori's friends and bandmates, is a second-year high school student (16-17 years old), while her older sister Seika, who manages the live house, is 29 (turning 30 during the course of the story). It's subsequently revealed they're 12 years apart, or a complete zodiac cycle. Seika notes that the large age gap was one reason why their sibling relationship was initially strained.
  • Bokurano
    • Maki Ano and her younger brother Kazuki. The Anos were unable to have children, so they adopted Maki, but Maki's mother finally succeeded in getting pregnant not long before the start of the series. Maki is about 12 when her younger brother is born.
    • Masaru "Kodama" Kodaka, who is 12 like the other main chracters, has two brothers in the anime and one in the manga, who are working adults and thus at least 22 years old.
  • A Bride's Story: Karluk is 10 years old, while one of his older sisters Seleke is in her mid twenties. Seleke's oldest daughter is only about two years younger than Karluk. However, this is likely the result of Seleke getting pregnant as a teenager, as women getting married in their teens was the norm for 19th century Central Asian nomads and Silk Road states.
  • Bunny Drop: The central characters of the series are Daikichi and his aunt, Rin. However, Rin is 24 years younger than Daikichi, because she was born through an affair Daikichi's grandfather had with a mangaka. It is later revealed that Rin is not Souichi's biological daughter, however.
  • Captain Tsubasa: Protagonist Tsubasa Ozora was around 15-16 when his baby brother Daichi was born.
  • Case Closed: Masumi Sera, a 2nd year high school student (16-17) is searching for her missing older brother with the help of her genius middle brother. Said brothers are, respectively, Shuichi Akai, 32, and Shukichi Haneda, 28. There's a Whole Episode Flashback depicting Sera's first meeting with them (the siblings lived in different countries for the first few years of her life due to various familial circumstances), and the brothers are already adults who look exactly the way they do in the present, while Sera is still a first grader.
  • Code Geass: With an official 108 consorts for Charles zi Britannia, there are plenty of half-siblings and even full-blooded siblings with years if not decades-sized age gaps. For example, Second Princess Cornelia is 27, while her younger sister Third Princess Euphemia is 16. Schneizel, the Second Prince of Britannia, is almost in his thirties, while his half-brother Lelouch is 17. Extra materials reveal that Clovis (24) has a younger full-blooded sister who is fourteen. The only ones with a reasonable age gap are Lelouch and Nunnally, born three years apart, something that is likely because their mother Marianne was the favored consort to Charles.
  • At the start of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Tanjiro Kamado, the protagonist, is a teenager, and the youngest of his siblings, Rokuta, is a toddler.
  • Digimon Frontier: Tommy, who's 9, has a college aged brother Yutaka.
  • Digimon Tamers: Per Word of God, there is a ten-year age gap between Jianliang/Henry's youngest sibling Shaochung/Suzie and his oldest sibling Lianjie.
  • Doraemon: Nobita and the Winged Braves: Doraemon and gang meets their new friends, Gusuke and Milk, both of them in their teens, and their younger brother, a newborn infant (who's less than a week old in the story's conclusion).
  • In Dragon Ball:
    • Son Gohan is at least eleven years older than his brother, Son Goten.
    • Goten's best friend Trunks is a year older than him, and Trunks later gets his younger sister Bra when he's 14. Bra herself is one year younger than Gohan's daughter Pan.
  • In Fruits Basket, ten years separate Yuki from Ayame. This means that while Yuki was a kid, Ayame was an Aloof Big Brother who wanted nothing to do with him, leaving Yuki permanently disillusioned towards him. Ayame came to regret this deeply, and by the time the manga starts, he has become the exact opposite, an extremely clingy and flamboyantly affectionate brother by whom Yuki is often annoyed.
  • Fullmetal Alchemist:
    • Manga:
      • As an ageless Truly Single Parent, Father's homunculi children vary in age by decades, the largest gap being Pride at 350+ and Wrath in his 60s (or if you don't count him due to being formerly human, Gluttony at 160+). In a bizarre way, Father himself (or rather, the body he inhabits) is a much older half-brother to Ed and Alphonse Elric, being a clone of sorts of their father that was created about 400 years before them. A Yonkoma shows the homunculi begging their "uncle" Ed for money.
      • Denny Brosh is a young adult man serving in the military, living at home with his younger brother and sister, who are both implied to be under the age of twelve. No parents are seen, which may mean that Denny is raising his siblings.
    • In Fullmetal Alchemist (2003), homunculi are created whenever alchemists attempt human transmutation, and Envy was created when Ed and Al's father Hohenheim tried to transmute his and the Big Bad Dante's dead son.
  • Gakuen Babysitters: Both Ryuuichi Kashima and Hayato Kamitani are first-year high school students (age 15-16), while their younger brothers Koutarou and Taka are toddlers. Kashima had a Promotion to Parent after his parents' deaths and was still Koutarou's primary caretaker while their parents traveled/worked a lot, and Kamitani acts as Taka's closest older male familial figure in place of their father (who divorced and left the family after the birth of Taka, who's unaware he even has a father). Since the two are used to looking after their siblings, they become part-time sitters for their school's daycare (where staff members leave their preschool-age kids while they work). The age gap (and lack of parents) is what makes Kashima so dedicated to his younger brother; Kamitani meanwhile is an Aloof Big Brother who constantly finds his younger brother's tantrums or misbehavior annoying. Kashima lampshades not being able to fight like normal siblings due to the age difference, but the two teens nevertheless love their younger brothers and are protective of them due to their circumstances.
  • In Girls und Panzer das Finale, it's revealed that Momo Kawashima, who became a Rōnin after graduating from high school and failing to get into her fellow student council members' university, has younger siblings who are in elementary school or younger, suggesting an average of a 10 year age gap between her and them. This is in contrast to the Nishizumi sisters, as Maho is only one year older than Miho.
  • In Goodbye, My Rose Garden, Alice, the oldest of four sisters, is most likely at least 18, since she's engaged to a young nobleman named Edward. Her youngest sister Mary, however, seems to be about five to seven years old at most, since a nanny is caring for her.
  • Justified in High School D×D as the inverted age to fertility propotion can cause almost exaggerated examples. Using main heroine Rias as one example, she subverts the normal supernatural Really 700 Years Old trope by actually being 17-18 at the start of the series but her older brother Sirzechs fought in the Devil Civil War when he was 60 and thus is around 560+ years old at series start.
  • Horimiya: Hori is 12 years older than her younger brother Souta. Because of this, their parents often left her in charge of taking care of him due to both of them constantly being busy with work.
  • Inuyasha, a hanyou, and his paternal half-brother Sesshomaru, a full demon, appear to be at least ten years apart in terms of their physical age; if Inuyasha is biologically a teenager, Sesshomaru is a grown man in his twenties. Of course, taking demon blood into account, the gap between them is much larger.
  • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure:
    • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders: Daniel D'Arby is 10 years older than his younger brother Telence. Telence lampshades the age gap by saying that they "are from different generations" and dismissing Daniel as "old-fashioned."
    • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable: Josuke Higashikata was born from an affair Joseph Joestar had with a woman young enough to be his daughter, making him 41 years younger than his half-sister Holly. When Holly's son, Jotaro, finds out about Josuke, he points out the weirdness of being Josuke's nephew despite being over a decade older than him. Joseph eventually adopts a baby, Shizuka, meaning Jotaro has an adoptive aunt younger than his own daughter.
    • JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind: While protagonist Giorno Giovanna is the son of Dio Brando, because Dio stole Jonathan's body for his own he's genetically a Joestar (legally he's a Joestar as well since Dio was adopted into the family). Because of this, his oldest half-sibling is George II Joestar, who was born almost a century before Giorno, and his closest living relative (Joseph Joestar) is his nephew. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean reveals other children of Dio and Jonathan, the youngest of which is only a few years older than Jolyne-his great-great-great niece.
    • Also from Stone Ocean, Ermes' older sister Gloria is ten years older than her, which is why she was Promoted to Parent after their mother's passing.
    • Jojolion: The youngest of Norisuke Higashikata's children is Daiya, age 16. Her eldest brother Jobin is twice her age, already married, and has a 9-years-old child.
  • In the Kagerou Project, Hiyori Asahina and Ayaka Tateyama are sisters. Hiyori is a pre-teen and Ayaka is the mother of a 17-year-old.
  • Kaguya-sama: Love Is War:
    • There is a huge gap between Kaguya and her three older brothers (enough so that the youngest of the three appears old enough to be her father). It helps that she doesn't have the same mother as them.
    • Shirogane and his little sister Kei are a little less than three years apart in canon. However, the recurring Kindergarten A.U. in the Official Doujinshi spinoff has him as a recently started teacher and her young enough that she hasn't even started school yet (meaning that they're around 20 years apart).
  • Karakuri Circus: Masaru is in elementary school while his legitimate siblings are all adults.
  • In Kiss and White Lily for My Dearest Girl, Aika (18 years old) is so much younger than her sister that she's actually much closer in age to that sister's daughter Haine (15 years old). As a result, Aika and Haine behave more like sisters than aunt and niece (amongst other things...)
  • Shion Souryuin from Kengan Ashura is 35 years old. Her younger sister, Akemi, is in high school, giving them a more-or-less 20 years age difference.
  • Koshiro and Nanoka from Koi Kaze have an age difference of twelve years between them, with Koshiro being an adult working a full-time job and Nanoka still being in high school.
  • Lyrical Nanoha:
    • There is a 27-year gap between Fate and her "older sister" Alica who she was cloned from. To put it in perspective, had Alicia not died as a child she would be the same age as Fate's adoptive mother Lindy.
    • Nanoha is 8 years younger than her older sister Miyuki and 10 years younger than her older brother Kyouya. She notes in the very first episode of the franchise that it makes her feel like something of a third wheel in her own household, since she couldn't help out while her father was hospitalized.
    • Nanoha's friend and classmate Suzuka has an older sister, Shinobu, who's about Kyouya's age.
    • Teana Lanster appears to be significantly younger than her late older brother Tiida, who was serving in the TSAB while she was a young girl.
  • In March Comes in Like a Lion, the Kawamoto sisters all have significant age gaps between them; Akari is in her early 20s, Hina is in middle school (though she later graduates to high school), and Momo is the youngest by far, being in kindergarten.
  • In Magical Sempai, the eponymous character is a second-year in high school, while her older sister works as a teacher at her school and is married.
  • My Hero Academia: Tensei Iida is 30 at the start of the series, while his younger brother Tenya, who starts at U.A. that year, is 15.
  • Takeo of My Love Story!! is already 16 years old when his baby sister, Maki, is born.
  • New Game!:
    • Yun is 20 at the start of the series and has five-year-old twin siblings, Ren and Miu.
    • Among the Yamato sisters, both Christina (the eldest) and Catherine (the middle child) seem to be fairly close in age, since they're adults and businesswomen, but Sophie, the youngest, is a grade-schooler.
  • The Miyauchi sisters in Non Non Biyori are rather far apart in age. Kazuho is 24, Hikage is 15-16, and Renge is 6.
  • One Piece: Big Mom has been marrying and dumping men since her teens, and has managed to have dozens of children well into her fifties. As a result, some of the Charlotte family differ in age by decades, even with adult half-siblings. The biggest age difference is Charlotte Prospero, who's 50, and Charlotte Anana, who's eight.
  • Ouran High School Host Club:
    • Umehito Nekozawa is a high school senior, while his sister, Kirimi, is a three-year-old.
    • According to Bisco Hatori's notes, Hikaru and Kaoru get a baby sister, Ageha, after the series ends, by which time they are in their late teens.
  • Pretty Cure:
    • HeartCatch Pretty Cure!: Near the end of the series, the Hanasakis learn they're going to have another baby, and so in the finale, 14 year old Tsubomi is a sister to 1 month old Futaba.
    • Smile PreCure!: Nao is the oldest of seven siblings. At 14, she is at least a full decade older than the three youngest, Yuuta (around four), Kouta (toddler-aged), and Yui (born in Episode 42).
    • Star★Twinkle Pretty Cure: Like Nao, Elena is the oldest of six siblings, and at 14, she's a full decade older than her toddler-aged sister, Anna.
    • Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure: Sora mentions having a baby brother, whom she is at least twelve years older than. However, this is later Subverted as it turns out she was exaggerating the age difference, and that "baby" Red is actually six years old.
  • In Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Madoka, who's 14 at the start of the series, has a younger brother named Tatsuya, who's 3.
  • In Sailor Moon, when toddler Chibi-Chibi hypnotises the Tsukinos into believing she's their youngest child, she has this dynamic with the teenager Usagi. This is even more pronounced than it was between Usagi and "cousin" Chibiusa.
  • In Saki, Kana Ikeda is a second-year in high school, and thus 16-17, while her triplet younger sisters appear no older than five or six years old.
  • In Saki Achiga-hen, Ako has a much older sister, who's as old as Harue (who was Ako's teacher for the mahjong club).
  • Ren and his older sister in Sazanami Cherry have a several-year age gap. This age gap allows his sister to keep secret the fact she's transgender because Ren can't remember her as anything but an older sister.
  • In Shi ni Aruki, Tokiko Kurosu, the adoptive daughter of the Kurosu family, is a teenager. Her adoptive siblings' ages aren't given, but the second son of the family (the third oldest child overall) has a daughter who seems to be around Tokiko's age, so he's presumably at least 15 to 20 years older than Tokiko, and the eldest daughter is even older. The massive age gap turns out to be because Tokiune Kurosu adopted Tokiko after his biological children became adults and moved out, since he was feeling lonely.
  • A Silent Voice: Shoya's unnamed sister is much older than he is. She married and gave birth to a daughter when he was an elementary school student.
  • Summer Wars: Wabisuke is the illegitimate son of Sakae's late husband who she later adopted, and there's implied to be a rather large gap regarding him and his three half-siblings, with him appearing to be somewhere between their children and eldest grandchildren in terms of age.
  • Symphogear: It is later revealed that Tsubasa's uncle (Genjuurou) and father (Yatsuhiro) are actually her half-brothers. Her "grandfather" Fudou (her biological father) impregnated Yatsuhiro's wife to produce a "pure-blooded" heir for the Kazanari clan. Yatsuhiro would raise Tsubasa as his daughter, while Genjuurou would act like as her uncle. The two brothers also appear to have a large age gap between them, as Genjuurou looks like he's in his mid-30s and Yatsuhiro appears to be in his 50s.
  • Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!: In Chapter 60, Sakurai (21 years at the time) visits his parents' house and is surprised to see his mother carrying a baby girl. At first, he assumes she's working as a babysitter, only for her to reveal that the baby is his little sister, who's just 8-months-old (his father was supposed to tell him, but he apparently "forgot").
  • In Yuri Moyou, the eldest of the Sakimiya sisters, Ryou, is a teacher, the second oldest, Serina, is an Office Lady, and the younger two, Yuika and Mizuki, are students.
