The Bonus Points is a British podcast/Video Review Show hybrid made by Joseph Garrett (also known as Stampylongnose) and his childhood friend Oli Guy. Every episode, they play a video game, review it and discuss their thoughts on it before adding it to a giant list ranking.
They have also made side-series such as Best of Three, where the Bonus Boys compete with each other with various gaming and real-life challenges, Do Your Worst, where they challenge themselves to give the worst answers to gaming-related questions, and Bloodbrothers, a full playthrough of Bloodborne.
On their Patreon, they also have an exclusive podcast called Extra Credit (no, not that one), which is a more general, casual show where Oli and Joe talk about gaming news and their own personal lives.
Their YouTube channel is here
. They also have a website where you can see their list so far, which is here

This podcast provides examples of:
- Annoying Laugh: Joe still has his trademark laugh, though not as exaggerated as his previous projects since The Bonus Points is a calmer show for an older audience.
- Art Shift: As a part of their 100,000 audio download celebration
, two animators named Crem and A11y Kat were brought on to reanimate Extra Credits episode 14 "What Would Tommy Do?". - Darker and Edgier: Downplayed. While the podcast does cover mature games and is not afraid of spicier topics such as gore, religion and politics, there are content warnings before those moments, graphic footage gets cut from the video version and swearing is outside the hosts' tongues.
- Embarrassing Browser History: The premise for Oli, Watcha Been Watchin'?
, a one-off video where Joe looks through Oli's YouTube watch history and appropriately bullies his video choices. - Hilarious Outtakes: The channel trailer itself
starts with this, from Joe going into his Stampy-voice at first to Oli awkwardly waving at his cue. - Interface Screw: A common trope in their challenge videos.
- In their GameBoy Camera video
, the boys challenge themselves to play video games on, you guessed it, a Game Boy camera. Mario Kart 8 becomes pixellated, the environment in Mirror's Edge turns unrecognisable and Killer Instinct becomes a big, laggy mess. - A real-life example in their inverted-camera
videos
, where the boys perform various physical tasks such as painting, wire puzzles and football whilst wearing flipped-vision goggles.
- In their GameBoy Camera video
- "L" Is for "Dyslexia": With Joe being dyslexic himself, the way Papers, Please has its UI designed made it difficult for him to play the game compared to his former partner Kye. He critiques this in the episode
, noting how his eyes always glazed over the game's information and how he took longer to process each document before the time limit ran out. - Phrase Catcher: Never expect an episode to start without Joe uttering the words "oi oi, Oli!" at his co-host.
- Stylistic Suck: Various examples.
- This is a part of the comedy in their green-screen series
, which is a charades-like game where either Joe or Oli perform on a green-screen and then guess which video game they are acting out. The editing afterwards with cut-off torsos over various gaming images and footage is this trope in comedic action. - The entire DALL-E Decoder video
is this, where the boys must guess what the original prompt was for various gaming-related DALL-E AI images. Due to the primative nature of AI generated software back when the video was made (2022), the images constantly fall into this trope and are laughed at by the hosts.
