Basic Trope: A certain enemy appears only once in the whole game.

  • Straight: Throughout the entire game of Super Tropio Brothers, only one Magma Dragon enemy is ever encountered in the level Volcanic Pit.
  • Exaggerated: The Magma Dragon enemy is absent from the sequels and the entire trilogy's only Magma Dragon appears in a well-hidden bonus room.
  • Downplayed: Multiple Magma Dragons appear. However they are still exclusive to Volcanic Pit.
  • Justified:
    • The Magma Dragon is the last one of its kind.
    • The Magma Dragon is the first one of its kind. note
    • Magma Dragons are invisible to the naked eye 99.99% of the time, and one just showed up because someone was trespassing its territory.
  • Inverted: Magma Dragons are the most frequent enemies in the game.
  • Subverted:
  • Double Subverted:
    • The enemies in Hidden Depths are actually Under Ground Monkey versions of Magma Dragon.
    • The flunkies are actually holograms, which are different enemies with different stats.
  • Parodied: There's an Achievement called: "Driving the Magma Dragons extinct... You Bastard!."
  • Zig Zagged: You encounter a single Magma Dragon when in the Volcanic Pit, but it's possible to capture it, and there's an in-game breeding mechanic, so you can get more of them.
    • Well, Magma Dragons return in the bonus level, but THAT level has an enemy called the Plasma Dragon, who’s indeed unique to that level, but appears more often.
  • Averted:
    • Magma Dragon appears multiple times, but not the most frequently.
    • The Magma Dragon enemy doesn't appear at all.
    • Magma Dragon is a boss/miniboss character, not a common enemy.
  • Enforced: The Magma Dragons were originally a part of an unfinished level and a certain part of Volcanic Pit felt incomplete without a fireball-spitting enemy.
  • Lampshaded: An in-game entry mentions that there's only one Magma Dragon.
  • Invoked: The boss of Volcanic Pit injects a genetic mutation into an Igneous Dragon, but comes face-to-face with the player, losing the battle along with his formula. What remains is the only Magma Dragon in existence.
  • Exploited: Darth, the Player Character for the "BRUTAL Quest" DLC, captures and threatens to kill the last Magma Dragon if the end boss of Volcanic Pit doesn't hand over the legendary Magma Lamp, thereby skipping the whole level on her route.
  • Defied: It is explained in a journal entry that the main antagonist of the game searched around the world to breed his pet with another Magma Dragon, and succeeded by the time the game began.
  • Discussed: The player's partner sees the last Magma Dragon, and talks about how thieves have attempted to capture it and sell it for a lot of money but lost their lives in the process.
  • Conversed: "Hey, why is there only one Magma Dragon in the world? Did it sleep through a genocide or something?
  • Implied: The characters never see the otherwise-normal Magma Dragon anywhere other than Volcanic Pit.
  • Deconstructed: The player character is shown grieving after realizing that he just killed the last member of a highly endangered species.
  • Reconstructed: Scientists use genetic technology to revive the Magma Dragon, but only once.
  • Played For Laughs: The Magma Dragon is shown hanging around, trying to date other, farther-from-extinction dragons.
  • Played For Drama: The Magma Dragon had its entire family killed by hunters, and it's searching for them to take revenge.
