Go To

Basic Trope: One girl is a Tomboy and the another one is a Girly Girl.

  • Straight: Alice wears masculine clothing and loves sports while Carol wears feminine clothing and prefers sewing and music.
  • Exaggerated: Alice literally has no feminine interests while Carol has no masculine interests too.
  • Downplayed: Both are pretty typical, but Carol is much more traditional than the rebellious Alice.
    • Butch tomboy and effeminate tomboy: Alice is a very masculine tomboy, to the point of being "manly", while Carol is a less masculine tomboy, who, although more masculine than a typical girly girl, nonetheless still has some feminine qualities and interests.
  • Justified:
    • Alice comes from a progressive family while Carol comes a family that values traditional roles.
    • Alternatively, Alice is much older than Carol.
  • Inverted: Both of them are either exactly tomboyish or equally feminine.
  • Gender Inverted: Manly Man and Sensitive Guy
  • Subverted: The two appear to be this, but they are the complete opposite.
  • Double Subverted: ...but they were only acting like this in order to please each other's families.
  • Parodied: Alice handles conflict with punches whereas Carol handles conflict with insults.
  • Zig Zagged:
  • Averted:
  • Enforced: ???
