Basic Trope: A monster looks exactly like a human for some reason.
- Straight: Cshorkians walk among humanity in Latex Perfection disguises.
- Exaggerated: Most alleged "humans" are actually disguised Cshorkians. Real humans are hard-pressed to find each other.
- Downplayed: Disguised Cshorkians look almost exactly like humans, but their glowing eyes give them away.
- Subverted: A Cshorkian disguised as a human turns out to actually be a different human in a Cshorkian suit...
- Double Subverted: ...until another disguise layer is ripped off to reveal a Cshorkian once again.
- Zigzagged: Lost count of how many layers of costume were removed from the guy/creature or whatever before the heroes gave up.
- Inverted: A group of space-faring adventurers use full-body disguises to match the appearance of whatever the dominant species is of the region they are researching.
- Parodied: The human costumes that the Cshorkians wear are laughably bad, but the humans inexplicably fall for it anyway.
- Averted: Cshorkians have no way to look like humans convincingly.
- Enforced: Rule of Scary
- Lampshaded: "The aliens were hiding under masks all this time...TV didn't lie to me after all..."
- Defied: One of the Cshorkian commanders suggests invoking this trope after seeing it done in a human TV show. The other Cshorkians call him an idiot and proceed to just do an Alien Invasion the old-fashioned way.
- Discussed:Bob: What if, hypothetically, there were Cshorkians in disguise among us?Alice: Like me?Bob: Oh, Crap!
- Conversed: "This show I'm watching has aliens that look just like people. Wouldn't that be extremely hard to pull off convincingly?"
- Played For Laughs: The Cshorkians call off their invasion because they enjoyed being humans too much.
- Played For Drama: Bob discovers that his girlfriend, Alice, is actually a Cshorkian. Either one of them has to choose their allegiance - either Bob is forced to become a Cshorkian to stay with Alice or Alice has to betray her species.
- Played For Horror: The usual usage of this trope.
