Playing With / Seductive Mummy

Go To

Basic Trope: A female mummy is portrayed as a sexy Love Interest for The Hero.

  • Straight: Amunet is an living mummy discovered by Bob and instead of being a monster, she turns out to be a gorgeous girl whom he fells in love with at first sight.
  • Exaggerated: Every female mummy looks like they came straight out of a Playboy magazine.
  • Downplayed: While somewhat pretty, Amunet isn't very friendly or lovable.
  • Justified: Amunet was a very beautiful girl in life and special magic was used to preserve it for thousands of years.
  • Gender Inverted: Amun-Ra is a suave Hunk.
  • Subverted: While initially pretty, it turns out Amunet needs to absorb other human's life force in order to preserve her beauty.
  • Double Subverted: Once she has regenerated herself fully, she doesn't need to do this anymore.
  • Parodied: Amunet is a dessicated corpse... That still falls for Bob regardless.
  • Zig Zagged: Amunet is attractive, but she is very cold and frigid, preferring to cover herself up instead of wearing just bandages. She does eventually warms up to Bob.
  • Averted: Amunet looks like a rotten corpse just like any other mummy would.
  • Enforced: This is either a monster girl or an Orientalist story with supernatural elements that have the adventuring hero fall in love with a mummy.
  • Lampshaded: "She is nowhere near as ugly as the other mummies I excavated, not even close".
  • Invoked: Amunet knows she's a corpse (or in her life, will eventually become a corpse), so she makes herself look beautiful for her own sake or for the sake of suckering in victims. She is likely to suffer from Glamour Failure as a result.
  • Exploited: Amunet is actually The Vamp and uses her looks to milk it of all its worth.
  • Defied: Due to her status as royalty, Amunet looks down on Bob like he is any other commoner and refuses to entertain a notion like falling in love with someone beneath her station.
  • Discussed: "We just saved a lot of undead make-up in the mummy by just casting a pretty actress and wrapping her in bandages".
  • Conversed: "The relationship between Bob and Amunet is a metaphor for the present day rediscovering old civilizations".
  • Deconstructed: Despite her beauty, Amunet faces Fantastic Racism due to being an "undead abomination" and her relationship with Bob is under scrutiny with the latter being labelled a necrophiliac degenerate.
  • Reconstructed: Her lovely and charming personality wins over enough friends and admirers that her detractors ultimately don't matter.
  • Played for Drama: Amunet's beauty is such a burden that certain sinister individuals want to prostitute her as an exotic Sex Slave.
