Basic Trope: A character (usually a girl) who is prim and proper tends to wear tights in an environment full of short skirts.

  • Straight: Alice wears a checked skirt and some black leggings as an indication that she's a serious woman.
  • Exaggerated: Alice wears the black leggings all the time.
  • Downplayed: Alice is a agent who wears black leggings for work.
    • Or, Alice wears the black leggings at formal times.
  • Justified:
    • Alice simply wants to keep her legs warm in the wintertime.
    • Alice thinks that showing off your panties is improper, so she decides to wear black leggings.
    • Advertisement:
    • Alice's native culture has a taboo against bare legs. Ain't No Rule saying how long your skirt has to be though.
    • Alice thinks the leggings go well with her skirt.
  • Inverted:
  • Subverted: In one scene when Bob asks Alice that if she is wearing leggings, but she says that she is wearing high socks.
  • Double Subverted: ...But when her skirt flies up, it revealed that she was wearing black leggings all this time.

  • Zig Zagged: Alice sometimes wears the black leggings, sometimes she doesn’t.
  • Averted: Alice doesn’t wear leggings.

    • Bob is tired of Alice only wearing panties under her skirt, so he forces Alice to wear something modest, like leggings.

  • Exploited: To appear proper, Alice wears leggings with a nice skirt.
