- Downplayed: Alice likes the color pink and wears it quite often, but she likes wearing other colors as well.
- Justified: Alice just likes pink.
- Inverted: Alice, a tomboy, wears pink to show her masculine side.note
- Gender Inverted: Pink is considered a masculine color. Bob, who is very masculine, likes to wear pink, while Alice never wears pink.
- Subverted:
- Alice may wear pink, but it turns out she's tomboyish or least feminine.
- Alice is seen wearing pink, but only because she accidentally mixed her preferred reds with white or vice versa.
- Double Subverted:
- Alice is a Tomboy with a Girly Streak.
- Alice passes it off as a mistake, when she purposefully did that to get pink clothes for free.
- Parodied: Alice is normally a tomboy, but suddenly becomes extremely girly when she wears pink.
- Zig Zagged: The Girly Girl wears pink very often. The Lad-ette loves pink even more than the Girly Girl does, and wears it every single day. The Proper Lady is never seen wearing pink.
- Averted: Alice doesn't wear pink.
- Enforced: The producers think that the viewers wouldn't know which characters are feminine unless all the feminine characters wear pink.
- Lampshaded: "Let me guess, Alice...pink's your color?"
- Invoked: Alice's mother dressed her in lots of pink clothes to highlight her girliness.
- Exploited: A merchant sells pink clothes to increase sales from customers with feminine tastes.
