Basic Trope: A character is only scared of something for one episode.
- Straight: In one episode of The Alice and Bob Show, Alice is afraid of mice. However, in previous episodes and later episodes, she is never shown or mentioned to be afraid of them.
- Exaggerated: Alice interacts with mice all the time and isn't afraid of them, however, in this episode they're her greatest fear.
- Downplayed: Alice is only a bit skittish about mice for the episode.
- Justified:
- Alice only became afraid of mice in this episode, and she gets rid of the fear at the end.
- Alice had never interacted with mice in the previous episodes, and she loses her fear in that episode.
- Alice never interacts with mice previously or later to the episode, so it's irrelevant.
- Alice is afraid of the escaped explosive mouse... until the radio reports that the mouse has either inerted or been captured. she was simply Properly Paranoid.
- Inverted: Alice is usually afraid of mice but doesn't mind them in one episode.
- Subverted: Alice's fear of mice returns in a later episode.
- Double Subverted: It turned out to be All Just a Dream.

- Alice never shows fear around mice until one episode. Since then, she doesn't seem afraid of mice until another episode when she runs away in fear from a mouse, but it turns out to be All Just a Dream. Bob thinks she's having Anxiety Dreams but Alice didn't seem anxious...
