Basic Trope: A character who talks quite fast and quite a lot.
- Straight: Whenever Alice appears, she always talks about a lot of stuff at a fast pace.
- Exaggerated:
- There is absolutely not a single scene where Alice would not say anything. In any scene with her, she talks overmuch more than all the speakers combined and overmuch faster than all the speakes combined.
- Alice talks at the speed of light.
- Alice talks at Ludicrous Speed.
- Downplayed:
- Alice talks just above normal speed, and only has so much to say.
- Alice only talks fast when she is nervous or excited. Otherwise, she talks fairly normal.
- Justified:
- Alice is a Genki Girl
- Alice has ADHD.
- Alice is a caffeine addict.
- Alice has Super-Speed and has to consciously slow down to be understood by people. Sometimes she forgets normal people don't have her Super-Speed.
- It was the only way for Alice to get a word in when she was a kid.
- Inverted: Whenever Alice appears, she always talks at slow speed.
- Subverted: Alice in her appearing scene, spouts out a bunch of nonsense super fast, but she was just on a caffeine high that moment.
- Double Subverted: ... And she's always on a caffeine high
- Parodied:
- Alice talks so fast, no one can understand her.
- From Alice's point of view, she talks normal and everyone talks one word per minute slow.
- Zig Zagged: Sometimes Alice talks fast, and other times she doesn't.
- Averted: Alice talks at normal speed.
- Enforced:
- "We need to make a super hyper Genki Girl, and like all of them, she must talk fast!"
- The producers chose to Lip Lock dub Ariki/Alice.
- Lampshaded: "Alice, could you please slow down? I can't understand you."
- Invoked: Alice was given up for adoption to auctioneers.
- Exploited: Alice deliberately talks fast, so no one can understand anything she says to them.
- Defied:
- Even though Alice is more than capable of talking fast, she always talks at normal speed to people so they can understand her.
- "I refuse to heed a single word you say if you can't say it at a speed I can understand," says Bob, Alice's exasperated husband. That works.
- "Me talking in an extremely fast pace is not gonna happen, sorry."
- Discussed: "Man, Alice could probably read the entire Oxford dictionary in 3 seconds."
- Conversed: "I've always wondered what it would be like to be able to talk as fast as that Alice girl."
- Deconstructed:
- Alice talks so fast that no one can understand her, but she can't really help it and feels as though she's useless.
- A law that makes speed-talking illegal has been passed and when Alice does her usual jibe, she attracts the attention of the police and they arrest her for simply speaking too fast.
- Reconstructed: Alice uses her ability to talk at insane speeds, and becomes an auctioneer and finally finds a purpose in life.
