Basic Trope: A very easygoing character.

  • Straight: Bob is a relaxed Nice Guy who doesn't really stress about things.
  • Exaggerated: Bob is REALLY relaxed that nothing really bothers him, not even things that are inherently dangerous.
  • Downplayed: Bob is mostly easygoing but he still has a few worries and fears.
  • Justified:
    • Bob has simply observed how unfulfilling and dissatisfying life is for neurotic people who panic and stress over everything. Thus, he chose to take the opposite route and has been thriving in it ever since.
    • Bob was raised to think that panicking and getting worked up easily make him weak and easy to manipulate.
  • Inverted:
  • Subverted:
    • Bob acts like a laid-back person to hide how much of a Nervous Wreck he really is.
    • Bob is a case of Beware the Nice Ones. It takes a lot to get under his skin, but anyone who pressed his buttons one time too many ended up regretting it.
  • Double Subverted: Becoming the Mask.
  • Parodied: Bob turns into a hammock or a palm tree whenever he's not interacting with other people.
  • Zig-Zagged: Sometimes Bob is easygoing, sometimes he gets mad, and other times he starts brooding.
  • Averted: Bob gets worked up just like everyone else
  • Enforced: The author inserts a collected character to contrast the excessive amount of broody and angsty characters in their work.
  • Lampshaded: "Jeez, Bob, do you ever get pissed off?" "Getting pissed off takes energy and time that I'd rather spend on more important things, thank you."
  • Invoked: Bob puts on a relaxed facade to hide how cowardly and easily scared he is.
  • Exploited: Bob is hired in a customer service job because of his laid-back attitude, even with the rudest customers ever.
  • Defied: Bob makes sure to set boundaries and looks annoyed when they get crossed to not seem like a pushover or too tolerant.
  • Discussed: "Bob is going to end up exploited by somebody else if he doesn't learn how to set boundaries." "I believe they've been long set, you just don't see them yet."
  • Conversed: "It's kinda comforting to have a laid-back person around to balance with everyone stressing out."
