Basic Trope: A kingdom has many kings with the same name, with regnal numbers to distinguish between them.

  • Straight: Troperia has had nine King Bobs.
  • Exaggerated: Troperia has had thirty King Bobs.
  • Downplayed: Troperia has had five King Bobs.
  • Justified: Caused by several generations of Dead Guy Junior.
  • Subverted: Some of Troperia's King Bobs are mythical.
    • 'Bob' is the species name, not the King Bob's personal name.
  • Double Subverted: But there are still a lot of real Bobs.
  • Zigzagged: Troperia has had nine King Bobs, however they don't have regnal numbers.
  • Averted:
    • Troperia doesn't have a remarkable number of King Bobs.
    • Troperia doesn't use regnal numbers.
  • Enforced: The director wants Troperia to seem like a very old kingdom.
  • Parodied: Every male in the family must be called Bob.
  • Invoked: King Bob names his son after himself.
  • Defied: King Bob names his son Charlie.
  • Lampshaded: 'Which King Bob are you?'
  • Conversed: 'Why are there so many King Bobs?'
  • Deconstructed: Characters find it hard to remember which Bob is which.
  • Reconstructed: All the Bobs have nicknames.
