Basic Trope: A character states that they are all right to indicate that they survived an incident.

  • Straight:
  • Exaggerated: Alice is very clearly eviscerated and then shoved through a wood chipper, and somehow lives through that to say, "I'm all right!"
  • Downplayed: Alice says, "I'm all right!" after tripping and falling.
  • Justified:
  • Inverted: Alice states that she isn't okay.
  • Subverted: Alice lands, but doesn't say anything, causing a concerned Bob to ask if she's okay.
  • Double Subverted: She gives a thumbs up, and Bob says, "Oh, thank goodness!"
  • Parodied: Alice falls off a building and breaks her leg. She casually states, "I'm all right!", only for Bob to tell her to go to the hospital.
  • Zig-Zagged: Alice falling off a building is a Running Gag. In some episodes, she confirms she's fine, in others episodes she doesn't, and seems to die (which doesn't matter, since she always returns unscathed in the next episode anyway).
  • Averted: Alice falls off a building and dies.
  • Enforced: "We need to add a comedic moment to this Disney Death. How about Alice casually saying she's okay after falling from a high place?"
  • Lampshaded: "You sure? Because that was a ten story drop!"
  • Invoked: "You okay, Alice?" "Yeah, I'm fine."
  • Exploited: This is a hint that Alice is Nigh-Invulnerable, and she later uses this in a fight against the Big Bad.
  • Defied: ???
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
  • Played for Horror: Alice is chopped to pieces, and her body parts (including her internal organs) are scattered all over, and her severed head rolls to a horrified Bob's feet and says, "I'm all right! I'll just walk it off!"

(gets crushed by rocks)

(comes out of the rubble) "I'm Okay!"
