Basic Trope: Someone sings a song before dying.

  • Straight: After Bob is shot in the chest by Emperor Evulz, he sings a song about friendship, love, and sacrifice to Alice before dying.
  • Exaggerated: After Bob has all of his limbs chopped off, eyes gouged out, and has his nose cut off by Emperor Evulz, he sings an entire Celine Dion album to Alice before succumbing to his injuries.
  • Downplayed: Bob sings a song to Alice before fading into unconsciousness.
  • Justified: Bob wanted to show Alice that his secret talent of singing.
  • Inverted:
  • Subverted: Bob sings a song to Alice before dying... until he is saved by the fairy they saved earlier in the work.
  • Double Subverted: The fairy failed to save him in time, and Alice kills the fairy in rage. The fairy then sings about sacrifice before dying.
  • Parodied: Bob sings a terrible cover of "I Will Always Love You", causing Emperor Evulz and Alice's ears to bleed.
