Basic Trope: A character mocks another by repeating them.

  • Straight: Alice makes fun of Bob's stutter by imitating it.
  • Exaggerated: Alice follows Bob around all day and ruthlessly mocks everything he does.
  • Downplayed: Alice briefly repeats something Bob says in a mocking voice.
  • Justified: Alice is very rude.
  • Inverted:
  • Subverted: Alice finds herself accidentally stuttering when talking to Bob, but it's just a case of Got Me Doing It.
  • Double Subverted: Alice uses that as an excuse, because she really was trying to make fun of Bob.
  • Parodied: Bob is hit by The Nudifier. Alice imitates him by stripping naked on the spot.
  • Zig-Zagged: ???
  • Averted: Alice doesn't insult Bob by imitating him.
  • Enforced: "We need to show how Alice is very rude and probably at least a little childish too."
  • Lampshaded: ???
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: Alice is making fun of Bob by repeating everything he says in a mocking voice, so Bob takes the opportunity to make her say something silly or mean about herself instead.
  • Defied: When Alice starts to stutter, Bob fixes her with a Death Glare.
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???

Bob: "Back to Copycat Mockery."
Alice (in an insulting voice) "Back to Copycat Mockery."
