Basic Trope: The danger a female poses is signified by how deep her voice is.

  • Straight: Jennifer is a big threat and has a deep voice to boot.
  • Exaggerated: Jennifer is Rated M for Manly and sounds literally like a man.
  • Downplayed: Jennifer is an Action Girl and somewhat has a deeper-than-average voice at times.
  • Justified:
  • Inverted:
    • Jennifer is high-pitched and a badass.
    • Jennifer is a deep-voiced Faux Action Girl
  • Subverted: Sally is deep-voiced and not much of a badass...
  • Double Subverted: But she's actually much more powerful than she lets on.
  • Parodied: Jennifer has a bass voice and has Testosterone Poisoning.
  • Zig Zagged: Jennifer's voice alternates between being deep and normal-to-high-pitched.
  • Averted: Jennifer is an Action Girl and sounds normal-pitched for a girl her size and age.
  • Advertisement:
  • Enforced: The director only ever considered low-pitched actresses for Jennifer's role.
  • Lampshaded: "Why do the tough girls sound deeper than normal?"
  • Invoked: Jennifer makes her voice as deep as possible so people can take her seriously.
  • Exploited: Jennifer uses her voice to fool the villains into thinking that she's a man.
  • Defied: Jennifer tries to maintain her normal voice whilst still being badass.
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
  • Deconstructed: Jennifer's voice causes people to view her as unfeminine, even if she's a Tomboy with a Girly Streak.
  • Reconstructed: Jennifer's voice causes people to view her as a badass and admire her for that.
  • Played For Laughs:
    • Jennifer is deep-voiced and The Comically Serious in a comedy-oriented series.
    • Jennifer usually speaks with a deep voice, but sometimes ends up coughing and complains in her actual normal-pitched voice how hard it is for her to keep it up.
