Basic Trope: An overweight man is handsome.

  • Straight: Bob is a fat man who happens to be good-looking.
  • Exaggerated: Bob is morbidly obese and every woman he sees goes crazy for him.
  • Downplayed: Bob is pudgy, but women couldn't care less about it.
  • Justified: Where Bob comes from, women are turned off by muscular men.
  • Inverted: Bob is skinny, but he's also ugly as sin.
  • Gender Inverted: Big Beautiful Woman
  • Subverted: Bob is overweight, but he drives women away due to his bad manners.

  • Double Subverted: ...but there are also women who are attracted to Bob's sloven ways.
  • Parodied: Bob is the size of a cow, and attracts every female he sees, even other cows.
  • Zig Zagged: Bob is overweight and, despite having lots of women chasing him, is unhappy with his size. He goes on a successful diet, only to discover said women aren't attracted to him any more. He gains the weight back, and has even more of a following among women.
  • Averted:
    • Bob is overweight and ugly.
    • Alternatively, Bob is at a healthy weight and handsome.
  • Enforced: Executives are tired of the negative stereotypes of overweight men. They create a fat male with more positive characterization than his skinnier counterparts, accentuating his attraction among women.
  • Lampshaded: "I may be fat, but the ladies all fall for me."
  • Invoked: Bob hears that Alice is a chubby chaser, so he puts on weight hoping to score a date.
  • Advertisement:
  • Exploited: Alice notices that Bob has a big appetite and has him treat himself to large dinners while on dates.
  • Defied: An overweight Bob tries to lose weight because women don't find him attractive anymore.
  • Discussed: "Take a look at Bob! He's huge and he's hot!"
  • Conversed: "I heard men can look sexier with a little weight on them. I don't mean muscles..."
  • Deconstructed:
    • Bob realizes that the women who are interested in him are only interested in his girth, making him self-conscious.
    • Bob's sex drive decreases due to his weight, making less women fall for him.
    • Bob staying fat to impress women gives him health problems.
  • Reconstructed: In the first scenario, some women who like him for his personality step forward and tell him the truth. They tell him they like him for who he is and not to worry about his weight so much.

  • Played For Laughs: Women like Bob due to his Fat Comic Relief, something he takes in stride.

He's huge and he's handsome, over at Big Beautiful Man.
