Basic Trope: A bar that is full of non-human characters.
- Straight: A bar is filled with multiple Funny Animals.
- Exaggerated: The bar also has aliens, vampires, werewolves, monsters, and everything in-between... except for humans.
- Downplayed:
- There are mostly non-human characters in the bar, but there is a Token Human or two there.
- The characters aren't humans, but are definitely humanoids with little to no physical differences from humans, such as Humanoid Aliens, Human Aliens, or Rubber-Forehead Aliens.
- Justified:
- Humans are banned from entering the bar.
- The refreshments served at the bar are something that humans can't ingest, or wouldn't be interested in ingesting (such as pet food, raw meat, or liquid nitrogen).
- It's just a bar intended for non-humans.
- There are no humans in the work anyway, so what would they be doing in this bar?
- Inverted: The bar only has humans, even though the work takes place in a world of non-humans.
- Subverted: It's revealed that the "animals" in the bar are actually just wearing animal costumes.
- Double Subverted: But under the costumes, they are aliens.
- Parodied: ???
- Zig-Zagged:
- Some of the characters in the bar are humans, and some aren't.
- (Continuing from Double Subverted) Under the alien disguise, however, they're humans. But they can shapeshift.
- Averted: There are no bars with non-human characters.
- Enforced:
- To establish early on that this work takes place in a world of non-human characters.
- To give the characters a place to go.
- Lampshaded: "Wonder where all of the people are?"
- Invoked: The bar has a rule banning humans.
- Exploited: ???
- Defied: Multiple humans are invited in.
- Discussed: ???
- Conversed: ???
Back to Bar Full of Aliens. Oh yeah, and can you get me another glass of liquid nitrogen while you're over there? Thanks.
