"I've enjoyed many planets so far, but this moment always excites me. It's a wonderful spectacle. To see fools destroyed by a weapon of their own making, and to hear their cries of agony! I implant fear into planets with civilizations. They make weapon after weapon to defend themselves, and finally, with a weapon they created, they destroy their own civilization. I have a name for it - The Civilization Self-Destruction Game!"

In general

  • The Devil's Splinter, as it turned out to be essences of Ultraman Belial, Ultraman Zero's archnemesis. These splinters came to be after sustaining wounds during the fallen Ultra's countless battles. On top of that, monsters lose their minds once coming contact with these artifacts. The real kicker, they exist across the multiverse, and it's only a matter of time when will Belial be making another comeback.
  • Every time Shinya shows up now. Now that Big Bad Celebro has taken possession of him, every time he moves it's just creepy. Even when his hand just goes up to his temples and rubs it, and that freaky noise pops up. You're sure to get a case of the heeby-jeebies whenever he's around.

Episode 1: I Ask That You Chant my Name!
  • Our introduction to our titular hero with Ultraman Zero is not a good one at all. Even Z's own recklessness got Zero sucked into a wormhole that had him Trapped in Another World for the remainder of first six episodes.
  • The real kicker of this episode; how did Genegarg manages to swallow Bullton in the first place?
  • The alien parasite Celebro possessing a human named Shinya Kaburagi at the end of the episode. Matters don't even help that he even had an Ultra Z Riser in his person, along with an aforementioned Devil Splinter.
    Possessed Kaburagi: Kiete Karekareta.note

     Episode 2: A Warrior's Principle
  • The last time we saw Neronga appeared, it seems that this kaiju in the episode is much more competent and a formidable threat and it's just the tip of the iceberg. The fact it's electric attacks managed to make short work of Sevenger doesn't help matters either.

Episode 4: Robot- 2 Activation Plan
  • Celebro creating the Jirahs medal. Once Erimaki Telesdon is defeated, Z starts having a hunch that someone (that someone in question being Celebro himself) is creating Kaiju Medals to wreak havoc across the universe.
  • Hebikura at the end of the episode where he watches Z's fight against Telesdon earlier, and his hairstyle once again turns that familiarly messy one, followed by him saying "I need a new toy to play with.", and a Slasher Smile. Take a quick guess who is coming back in the next episode...

     Episode 5: First Juggling
  • The sight of Yoko frozen shut in Windom due to Peguila's part. Haruki would have made quite a short work in rescuing her, until Hebikura (actually Juggler when using Majin form) briefly steals the Z Riser to create his own copy. Due to the aforementioned reveal, one must have wonder that if this wasn't a Batman Gambit on Juggler's part for Sevenger/Haruki to save Yoko, then she would have been at risk of hypothermia.

     Episode 6: The Man Returns!
  • Juggler's reaction at the sight of the revived Gillvalis, considering that he once encountered the mechanical monstrosity three years ago and seeing it appear during a battle simulation between Sevenger and Windom, he yells at the crew to get the hell out of there. To add insult to injury, the Gillvaris has been revived by the Devil Splinter and made short work of Ultraman Geed, to the point it damaged Riku's Geed Riser, forcing him to use a Z Riser.

     Episode 7: His Majesty's Medal
  • This episode hints, that even though it's not Celebro's intentions, mixing the Devil Splinters with Riku's Belial factor might be enough to bring Belial back once more. Imagine how angered he may be if he returns this time.
  • While having his DNA drained, Riku's image of Ultraman Belial, which usually portrayed in his original Early Style, can be seen briefly taking appearance of his corrupted form. Despite being a minor detail that's easily overlooked, it only shows Riku's potential of becoming exactly like his father is still there, just like those occasional moments when his eyes turn red.

Episode 9: The Unidentified Object Convoy Order

Episode 10: Here Comes the Space Pirate!
  • Barossa's mind control powers are once again used to a terrifying degree. This time, he takes over Yoko's body, once again using her as a puppet. He even threatens to kill her if Yuka doesn't try to activate King Joe again.
  • After the alien's destruction, Z revealed that Barossa claimed of how his brothers will avenge him in the future. The Ultra has to remind Haruki that Barossas are born in a clutch of 10,000, meaning that 9,999 other members will follow. Cue the rest of the Barossas in their home planet grieving for their brother's death.

Episode 12: The Cry of Life
  • Yoko's defiance of both Juggler and Haruki's (although she would never know about Haruki's pleas anyway) pleas to not kill Grigio Raiden. The way King Joe stands tall in the flames created of it's enemies' scattered remains. It's creepy, and really makes Yoko look like a villain, not unlike King Joe's old masters, or even a deranged monster-hating sociopath.

     Episode 14: Four-Dimensional Capriccio
  • Bullton's use of its power to mess with the entire STORAGE base is as creepy as it was back in Ultraman. Everything inside of the facility has become an Eldritch Location of constant loop. When Yoko tries to reach for King Joe, the scene keeps on as if she's running in circles and finally gets a view from her perspective that the path to King Joe is spiraly, so much so that it would invoke acrophobia to viewers.
  • Although Bullton is defeated and everything returns to normal, at the end of the episode, a dimensional rift appears in the sky, followed by The Stinger of a familiar giggling that long time fans would be familiar with.

     Episode 15: A Warrior's Duty
  • Greeza, just as alien and wrong as he was back in Ultraman X. When Juggler tries to turn into Tri-King, and eventually Five King? Easily beats him. Geed? Gets freaking absorbed into him! Thankfully, he gets beaten by Z in Delta Rise Claw, but still, you will get the chills seeing him again, even if it's not the first time anymore.
    • When Greeza resumed its rampaging spree, viewers get a glorious look at the assimilated Geed vibrating around with Riku's voice accompanying the laughter.
    • Even more so is the fact that despite it being Delta Rise Claw's debut, which normally results in a complete curbstomp, Greeza still puts up a fight and isn't demolished as per usual.

     Episode 16: The Lion's Cry
  • This episode brings up some serious horror of what happens when a kaiju gets a hold of the Kaiju Medals: It's painful. The moment Horoboros gets hit with the ones for Gillvalis and Galactron, he's thrashing in anguish with his new cybernetic body parts.. And this totally means Telesdon was just as in much anguish when he was fed the Jirass medal.
  • Celebro's going under some serious Sanity Slippage. No longer is he being a silent stalker behind the scenes, but a raging lunatic constantly yelling and screaming.

     Episode 17: Beliarok
  • This moment doesn't happen till the very end of the episode no less, and because of that, is pretty jarring. Celebro realizes that Shinya's body is no longer suitable, and jumps host to one of the officers chasing after him. You can actually see Shinya's eyes turn big and pupiless as Celebro crawls out of his mouth. Ick.

     Episode 18: Do-Over in the Year 2020
  • This episode always has a really mysterious atmosphere over it. It starts with Yoko and Haruki getting ready to fight Pagos, but then.. the monster just disappears. And so do tons of other people across the district.
  • Then Haruki meets Ms. Kaori, and the two have a nice conversation, until Haruki mentions his job is to kill Monsters and Aliens, then Kaori starts yelling at him to ''kill her!" Then she doubles over and pain, and Haruki looks away for one moment, and she's gone.
  • Then we find out the truth. It turns out that Ms. Kaori is being possessed by Kemur Man, the two constantly fighting over the body. Kemur Man's master plan is to kidnap everyone across Tokyo by using a bomb made out of the teleportation liquid he emits from his head and mixing it with rain that would then hit everyone, all to help his species not age! Thankfully, said scheme doesn't come to pass.

     Episode 19: The Last Hero
  • The episode opens with an attack by Bemstar, indicating that it will be the primary threat. Then a crack appears in the sky and what does Bemstar do? Run like a bat out of Hell Any Ultra Series fan knows that Bemstar is not a weak monster known for running, so to get this kind of reaction, the monster on the other side of the crack must be a powerful one.
  • Baraba is surprisingly creepy in this episode. To the shock of everyone, he starts talking in a Madness Mantra, repeating the same words over and over, seemingly having Sanity Slippage with his hatred for Ace.
'Baraba: Ace.... Ace!... Ultraman! Die! DIE!!
  • The Stinger at the end. Yuka, of course, is excited to investigate Baraba's head sword, (the last thing that remained of his body after Z blew him to atoms) since it hold the power to break through dimensions. Then Juggler just turns around and stares at her. What the heck could that mean? With Juggler's ambigious morals, only time will tell it seems..

     Episode 21: D4
  • The titular weapon itself. It's far too powerful for it's own good, and when attached to King Joe and used to destroy the charging Kelbim hoard.. it works too well. The entire thing spawns this gargantuan sphere of death that Z is barely able to stop with a super powered Zestium Beam.
  • Kelbim himself is pretty scary too. This thing was lured by the very weapon that GAFJ had tested and came in a large number of siblings under their 303 meter gigantic mother from the outer space. If it wasn't for Beliarok, the Mother Kelbim may had the potential to arrive on Earth.
  • Kuriyama's increased ruthlessness is quite a thing to behold, as he disregards the very real dangers of the D4 and when STORAGE defies him one times too many, he has them outright disbanded, which means that there's no one around to stop him from using the unstable and dangerous weapon. To further the scariness, Kuriyama's comedic traits such as his stomach aches disappear completely, leaving him entirely as a stern and ruthless director.
  • Celebro appears at the beginning of the episode, bumps into Kuriyama and then grins as he watches him leave downstairs before his eye glows. What is he plotting? Did he possess Kuriyama or is going to?
     Episode 22: Individual Tomorrows.
  • Seems like Celebro finally got those Five King medals back near the end. Not to mention, the hands picking them up are Director Kuriyama's! Seems like he took STORAGE over after all!
  • Ultroid Zero still uses the dimensional energy Baraba's sword left behind, only being covered up by Z's energy by the Zestium ray. The higher ups at GAFJ learned absolutely nothing.
Episode 23: Prelude to a Nightmare
  • Just the title alone. Not only does Ultroid Zero still have destructive dimensional energy, but it seems to be causing more monsters to wake up rather than stay away from humanity.
  • Ultroid Zero. There's just something plain off about it. It looks and moves awesome sure but there's some underlying sense of mystery and horror behind it all.
  • The D4 Ray. It doesn't completely swallow the entirety of Japan this time sure, but it still causes heavy damage to Ultroid Zero and Yoko is left knocked out after it fires. Worse? Everyone in the SAG building doesn't seem to care.
  • Hebikura has been officially discharged. The one person best equipped to stop Celebro is now no longer part of GAFJ, meaning there is little hope for our heroes right now.
Episode 24: The Game to Extinction
  • Destrudos. Everything about it. It's design is nightmarish. It's roar is like a downright horrific shriek. It has the power to literally tear apart dimensions.. and there's no stopping it.
  • Celebro possesses Yoko in this episode, and her actress went all out. She gives off an incredibly creepy vibe everytime she's on screen.
  • The way Ultroid Zero absorbs the Red King, it punches right through its chest and slowly disintegrates it.
