Nightmare Fuel / The Oathsworn

  • "The White Raven" opens with a VERY graphic scene of a woman being put to the stake, alive. And not "alive" in the sense that she was alive when she was impaled and then died instantly. No, she is impaled through her rectum to her mouth with her executioners taking special care "as obscenely as if they were lovers" to avoid peircing any vital organs. The dialogue notes that it took three days for her to die "while the snow under her got redder and redder".
