  • When Ponder Stibbons explains that the end of magic will annihilate the Disc, the next page is a lovingly illustrated two-page spread of what would happen if Cohen detonated his bomb. Great A'tuin and the elephants reduced to bleached bones, whilst atop their backs sits what was the Disc — now an enormous, smoldering platter of ash and cinders. It's an image that haunts the reader.
  • Imagine how you would feel if you found out your life was nothing more than a series of moves by gods as part of a game. It's a chilling and tragic moment for the Silver Horde, and while they probably previously didn't mind it, near the end of their lives it hits a way lot harder.
